How to Install DVO Fork on Polygon Siskiu T8 // Diamond D1 UPGRADE
Suspension Components: bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/suspension
Walk through the process on how to remove the stock Fox 34 Rhythm fork on the Polygon Siskiu T8 and install the new DVO Diamond D1 fork. The DVO Diamond D1 has 35mm stanchions, travel adjustments for the 29er from 140mm to 160mm which is done all internally. The DVO Diamond D1 also provides significantly more tuning options compared to the entry level Fox 34 Rhythm fork that comes stock on the Polygon Siskiu T8.
This is a simple process, but some care and attention is needed for a few items. Here are some other links to what I used and if you want part specific tools:

      Nice! While it’s not got the pick me up of a gas powered bike, it is fun to play around with. Not sure if I mentioned it in this video; but I did end up changing the front sprocket to be one less tooth allowing for better acceleration. It did drop the top speed down 1-2 mph but for me, it worked better that way. I also changed the batteries out to be lithium vs lead acid.

    Just found your channel. Great review on this trail system. My son-in-law works for Whirlpool so we rode when it first opened when I got the chance to bring the bikes to the westside. I worked for a trail building company at the time and was busy with the DTE build in Chelsea. Builder did a great job considering the limitations in elevation. Trail boss always said building on flat is harder then on elevation. I have always felt that trail systems like Lakeveiw are very important additions to the mtb communities riding opportunities. It's the gateway drug so to speak. 😂

    Nice review! Question: does the t8 come with a high engagement hub out of the box? I realize it wont be like a hydra hub or anything, but ive come to appreciate having a high engagement hub quite a bit and im having a hard time figuring out if thats an upgrade im going to need to plan for when i buy the bike Thanks!

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 13 dny

      Thanks!! It’s not a high engagement hub. Definitely not like a hydra hub. But… i wouldn’t call it an entry level hub either. It’s descent and gets the job done, but if you’re used to a hydra or onyx, you may feel disappointed. I ended up upgrading my hubs to the hope pro 4 hubs when I upgraded my Wheelset with my NOBL partnership. Hope hubs are a nice upgrade if you want more engagement without spending the money on some of the really high engagement hubs.

      @@MTBTrailRider thanks! on account of the quick reply ill definitely grab that thru your link when i go to pull the trigger! If im understanding what ive been reading correctly, I’ll probably need to grab a new cassette to be compatible with most popular high engagement hubs? (Im still very much a novice to the MTB scene and figuring the whole compatibility thing out lol) Actually the reason I’m even in the market for a new bike right now is because this weekend I ran over my beloved Roscoe 8 with my truck. I set the bike down, got distracted for a minute, then went to move my truck and that was all she wrote 😖 Total bonehead move, frame is toast, so now I’m in the grieving/shopping process lol

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 12 dny

      Oh no!! That had to be gut wrenching. So, you shouldn’t need a new cassette. You just need to get the hub with the microspline driver. That’s the configuration for the stock SLX drivetrain on the T8. When you buy the new hub, just select the driver your need. If you’re buying a used hub with a different driver than yea you’d need to switch the cassette. If you have more questions about this, I’m happy to assist.

      Nope. This is a public spot. It’s located at the bottom of the “cottontail trail” at white oak mountain (known to a few as the biology trails) located in collegedale Tennessee - on southern adventist university campus. They have another jump line at white oak on other side of trail map called nutty buddy. I’ve take my dirt jumper down that trail. It’s doable. Depends on trail conditions at the time it can get pretty loose.

Ok, everyone traveling; DO NOT visit these trails. Go anywhere else. Every time I’m on these trails, I’ve had to help people get back to the parking lot or assist them with directions. This is not an established trail system for non locals. Don’t worry Bruce, you can keep “your trails” to yourself.

      I’m sorry, I what are you missing? Everything I removed, I showed on camera. As well as putting the fork back in… the fork gets the crown race, then the bearing goes over the crown race. Stick that up through the head tube. You don’t have to remove everything from the top of the headset to remove the fork. So whatever you took off, put back on in the same sequence. If you need more clarity, please reference which part you’re struggling with. Also, feel free to reach out via Instagram @jjorgensen428 and you can send me videos of what you’re working on. • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 3 měsíci

      Yes…. Kind of… remember this is powered by an electric motor. The battery and computer module is enclosed in the plastic cover which provides protection against rain, water splashes, etc but it’s not sealed to prevent water from getting in if it was submerged. The motor, in the back is open to the elements but it is decently protected. The wiring is all covered up with protective sheaths and the side of the motor has some exposure but it’s minimal. You’re not going to ruin it from water being splashed on from your tires and such but avoid submersion or deep puddles that could get the side of the motor wet. I’ve driven this around in the snow and got it covered. Snow melted off in the garage. Didn’t have any problems. I’ve ridden this through mud and haven’t had any issues. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Why not the NOBL 41 since it is 35mm inner rim like the stock rims and stock tires at 2.6?

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 3 měsíci

      A few reasons.. The TR37 can handle 2.6 tires fine and I don’t think I’ll ever go above that with my trail bike. This is not a downhill bike that sees that type of aggressive trail regularly so I felt the TR37 fits more inline with the trail/all mountain style riding that this bike is truly designed for. Nobl has a lifetime guarantee on the wheels if damaged while riding. If I got into situation where these rims couldn’t handle my riding, I could look at getting into the correct Wheelset. However; I was not concerned with. The tr37 are very tough and made very well. I went as big as I needed. I like the 30mm/31mm ID of the rims and I track very well still. Just didn’t fit into the “bigger is better”. To be honest, I was considering the TR35’s as they would match my regular trail riding much more and still have the 30mm ID with less weight. However; I do occasionally take this bike to shuttled downhill parks and wanted to have a little extra strength / confidence on those rides. Hope this helps.

      Yes. But saying with a level of discretion. I don’t know your kids ability if he can ride a regular pedal bike then I would say yes they can ride this. My son in this video had just turned 5. The throttle on the mx350 is very gradual and doesn’t not accelerate quickly like the StaCyc electric bikes do. Those have throttles that are lot more responsive. The mx350 throttle is on or off. When it triggers on it gradually increases the speed.

      Hey there! So, I like the t9 build… I like that there are more build configurations for those who just want to buy the higher quality ready to go out of the box. It’s an $800 difference, but you’re getting a bigger fork - Fox elite 36 vs performance 34. The bigger stanchions will be noticeable at the bike park. I don’t know how hard you ride, but I’ve taken my t8 to a bike park in Michigan and handled blue trails no problem. But I’m not sure how it would hold up to a full day of abuse at like windrock in TN or big DH park in Colorado. I increased my travel on my fork to 150 with a new air shaft and fine tuned it with volume spacers. Love the feel of the fork but the beefier stanchions would be nice on park days. The trp brakes a nice upgrade but the 4 piston tekro are quite capable. Maybe just switch out the pads and throw a 200mm rotor up front to give you more confidence. Traditional blue and black enduro trails or all mountain trails, you should be fully confident with on the t8. I switched my rear cassette out along with the derailleur to the XT replacing the SLX. It was nice, but hard to notice the difference unless you’re an avid rider. I keep the slx crankset. So… to finalize my long explanation, if you have the $800 extra, you would be very happy with the build out - especially when it comes to park days (I would still increase the fork travel to 150 by replacing the Fox air shaft - bike shops can do this no problem if you’re not confident with that type of work). But if that $800 is significant and not in the budget, you would be happy with the T8 for normal riding days but big DH parks might take a little bit to feel confident with. This isn’t a DH bike. But it’s a very capable all mountain bike that I’ve been able to push pretty hard. I hope this helps and didn’t confuse you more. 😂 if you have more questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. I don’t always get notifications on CZcams replies, so Instagram works good too: @jjorgensen428

    Is it worth $530 on sale?

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 5 měsíci

      I think so.. I think the cheapest I found them was $475. The stock battery is good but it’s worth spending some extra money can replacing the lead acid batteries with LiPo (lithium) batteries. You’ll be happier with overall performance as you get more consistent power through the whole charge.

    Im 5’10 and it says I need a large. I’m scared it might be too big. What are your thoughts?

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 5 měsíci

      I’m 5’11” and I ride a large. I don’t think 1” in height would be a big difference in feel but I like the large. I think a medium would be too small for me. There’s also perceived feel too… if you’re currently riding a 27.5” Wheelset; the large only comes with 29” Wheelset so it might feel bigger even if you’re coming from the same size frame but different Wheel size. I mention this in this video or maybe another I have; but I like how this frame design makes you feel like you’re sitting lower inside the bike which gives you more confidence at higher speeds. I’ve been on some 29er bikes that make you feel top heavy. Not sure if any of this helps…

      Yes. It's purple and black. The purple is weird though. it can sometimes look blue, usually when in direct sunlight.

      Its a great bike. You'll be happy with it. I feel like i need to point out weaknesses because there are people out there who tend to be very critical of polygon bikes for some reason and feel that the more you spend the higher status you have. This is a great bike.

    How did you get the edited footage from 360 footage? Did you edit in phone app then transfer somehow?

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 7 měsíci

      There’s an Insta360 desktop app that I edited the 360 clips on before moving the file to premier to put the whole video together. The key to making the edits easier is to use direction lock when you’re using the Insta360 desktop or phone app. You add key frames to have the zoom and camera direction set. If you don’t use direction lock, it can make editing the 360 footage very time consuming and frustrating.

    How’s your boy who had the balance bike at year and a half thinking about getting one for my boy who’s gonna be a year of January?

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 7 měsíci

      He’s good! He’s now 6 and riding basic trails and he has an electric dirt bike he rides now too. I have another son now 2.5 but he started on the balance bike at 1 and he thrived on the balance bike. For him, he just wanted to keep up with his older brother.

    I wonder if I should get the 350 or 650 for my 8 year old daughter?She weighs 45 pounds.

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 7 měsíci

      So, the 350 is pretty small. Weighing only 45 pounds would certainly make handling the 650 more challenging, just given the weight of the bike is about 90 ish pounds. That clip of my son riding the 350 in the beginning, he was 5 years old, weighed about 45 pounds in that clip, but he was only maybe 3’8” at that time. Now my son is just over 4’ tall and he looks big on the 350. He can still ride it though. The good thing about the 650 is the variable speed throttle. So your daughter can still learn slowly, but the bike is much heavier if she fell and needed to get the bike off her or picked back up. The 350 might be good for a season. Maybe see if you can find a cheaper used 350 online and try it out before committing to the 650? 🤷🏼‍♂️

    So are you just charging this with a normal leadacid charger the bike came with?

    • @MTBTrailRider
      @MTBTrailRider Před 7 měsíci

      Yes. The standard charger is fine. We didn’t change the power of the batteries, just the type: lead acid vs lithium. The charger will still change from red to green when it’s fully charged.

  • @texas_stone_lets_go_brando953

    Do you think a 13 year old could handle this?
