    Nice talk. Did you observe any side products while doing MTBE as solvent under strong acidic conditions?

    • @ChemReactor
      @ChemReactor Před 23 dny

      Hi Rambabu, Thank you! Yes, we have observed side products from MTBE in strong acid conditions. This depends entirely on your starting materials, intermediates, and the products generated in your reaction. If your reaction does not involve reactive functional groups that are sensitive to acidic conditions, then this shouldn't be a concern. For instance, if your starting material contains a carboxylic acid functional group, exposure to acidic conditions and elevated temperature could result in the formation of an ester.

    Can we used hatu catalyst for acid to non substituted amide by using ammonia. Then convert this amide to nitrile?

    • @ChemReactor
      @ChemReactor Před měsícem

      Hi Ashoka, I have never performed ammonia coupling with acid using HATU before. However, there are a few considerations: 1. Ammonia-in-water scenario, water will be involved in the reaction. 2. Gaseous ammonia would require high-pressure conditions. There are several methods available to convert amide to nitrile.
