Today is February 11th, and my first dahlia plants went into the ground. In my climate, I often plant a couple of months earlier than advised and risk losing some plants to frost. I mitigate that risk by planting in low tunnels under Agribon row cover. Those tunnels provide a 4-degree bump in temperature overnight, which typically keeps my plants from freezing when the temperatures get into the...

What temperature do you set your cooler at? We modified a fridge and it didn’t go well 😢

  • @stephendavidrathburn8952

question. When you say it's a " third year seedling" do you mean you've grown it from seed for three years? If so how do you make sure the 2nd and third year of seeds stay true?

Have you registered any of your treasures? If you did where can I purchase them. I takes a lot of time and dedication!

Wow, oh wow! I am learning soooo much from you! I just watched your video on your tuber bed. My question is, do you continue to grow more sprouts from the tubers after you take cuttings? I grow dahlias, but can see that I k ow so little. Thanks so much.

So good! and timely for me as I'm lifting these pots soon. Can you also just store them in the pots? (not rinsed or cut or anything)

The seed heads you were opening that had seeds seemed like they were immature, I thought the seed heads needed to be dry for the seeds to be mature? I have no experience with dahlias, just other garden flowers.

Question .. Why do you plant with the 4in pot still on? Wouldn't it grow better unrestricted ?

Quick question on another video that the comments were turned off....on your dahlia cuttings...do you use the spongy medium you can buy from amazon....it looks like it's not in regular soil ...the smaller original plugs.....before you put them into the 4inch pots.

Great video, loving your content. This is my first year growing dahlias. And I must say I am hooked. Now that I know I can try my hand at hand pollinating I think I be really busy this summer. As I have hand pollinated roses last summer and I am growing my very first rose seedlings now. I am awaiting for their first blooms. I can't wait to try this with Dahlias. Keep these videos coming.
