Hi great VDOs, I tried too post earlier but YT kept erroring I have just started the Korean language class at HKU joined the Basic Korean level...."orange books". Did you find it really intensive? (Don't even feel like time to eat lol so maybe good for my figure but not the brain!! LoL) would like to know your experience please. The First book (Hangel) we had less than 4 days to complete, .no review then the second week first day already starting the grammar book and then second day the reading writing book and then third day the listening /reading books ... in essence flipping books first 2 hours and second 2 hours different book? Like Go Go Go Go Go...2 hours each chapter. Feels like no time too breath and take it all in. We are expected to have memorized immediately what you have learned in the previous 2 hours before moving to the next chapter..... as well as understood what the words in Korean actually mean. Jumping pages as insuffient time to complete page excercises etc.. even time at home is trying to memorize Just hoping to find out your experience of the structure and approach. This doesn't feel basic more intermediate.... Lol .. but also ahhhhhh! (P.S. Great teachers, but I feel they are under pressure to ensure a given schedule come what may)
It is a lot but these courses, most other university's Korean language courses are all on an accelerated pattern. I would say the best advice is that if you don't feel like you completed that semester's course work it is totally fine to retake a semester! Also make sure to prep for the next day that really helps a lot for me! Like go through the pages you'll study, the readings you will look at and look up the words you don't know! This will save time in class!
I hope you still have a good relationship with Korea now.

After attending Kyunghee for a while I realized that this dorm is made up of "officetels" so it's like an apartment style dorm!

@@sofialou1809 it's cuz, she lives in an off campus dorm. It's not mainly a dorm but an apartment as she said in the beginning. That's why there's every facilities in one room
