After a full days use, the new capacitors are broken in and the phono stage sounds sweet with the tone controls flat. It was very muffled with the old worn out caps. The phono preamp didn't pass a signal for almost 5 minutes the first time I powered it up after the restoration. I first picked up a pair of PAX-20a. They sounded so beautiful to me, I turned around and bought a pair of the PAX-20E. The recently I saw a pair of PAX A30 on CL. I got them right away. A30 is even more beautiful sounding. Give them the best upstream and you will be totally rewarded. I do use two good 8" subs to reenforce the low end. Leaving them free air or put them in any box you can find will do the trick.
