I think Jim was just tired of being Jim Morrison and wanted to focus his attention in other directions. Maybe, just maybe he got to live twice. I don't know what my life would have been like without The Warehouse. My only regret is not going to every show, even though I have seen many, many legendary performances there. I didn't go to The Doors concert. It wasn't one of their 'stellar' performances, but the experience would have still been worth the ticket price and concert tickets there, back then were $3 and $5...can you imagine? Nowadays tickets can be over $1000, depending on the venue, the band and the location of the seat!

It's an interesting moment in time. In 1966, I was nine, going-on-ten years old, living in Pomona, about 30 minutes outside of Los Angeles. It was covered in the news every night. I often wished, when I was older, that I could drive through the strip in 1966 to see it. The interview with the Monkees reminded me of the narrow mindedness prevelent at the time about hair styles, fashions, and even civil rights.
