KC hilites daylighter chrome housings vs stainless steel housings!
I had a pair of chrome daylighters fitted to my pajero kit number #237 which is now discontinued by KC hilites they have suffered badly from corrosion so I purchased some second hand stainless steel daylighters to switch over the gravity inserts into this video just shows how to tell if your lights are stainless steel besides the obvious corrosion on the chrome ones!

Just an update on the last KC hilites daylighters I fitted to my 1989 Mitsubishi pajero! This was a kit #237 triple chrome of which I also fitted gravity inserts to! There still a fantastic light! But the housings have not fared well with the weather road salt and stone chips! Now KC has discontinued this chrome model and now only produce stainless steel ones with black powder coating! What did you do to get it running
@@Jhonnyblaze786 didn’t do much just changed the oil and filter and cleaned out the petrol tank it starts easy and sounds ok on idle but is boggy in higher revs so carbs will be coming off to clean them
Bit of work needs doing but very nice condition and very rare bike that is
She ain’t bad it will clean up it’s a Swedish model 2LF which had the somewhat ugly square headlight conversion but I’d imagine it would make it one of the rarer versions of the fzr 1000 I’ll be changing to the round lights but I’ll keep the bits to convert back if needed

I know im not stupit but he's road testing a different bike. The walk around has white front mudguard but road test has blue mudguard. Odd. I own an xl600lm ridden sandraiders 2022 no.791
Same bike the road test part was filmed before the walk around I removed the paint from the plastic fender with a razor blade! What would I gain from faking a video with two bikes exactly?
very nice... ..had a mate who didnt wear gloves and came off, they took skin off his arse to fix his hands
it seems to be a popular place for a skin graft! I usually wear gloves was only taking a short spin around the block!

Hi i bought the bike with out the tank but I purchased this one off an xl600lm Facebook group so that would be a good bet put up a wanted add just be careful buying in there lots of scam artists! Always use PayPal goods and services!

@@DB1410 no problem buddy aye seen one in England as well but guys wanting to much for it he's like at 5k but it's got wrong forks and a few other things that don't look right. A will be over that way soon as wanting to pop over and see a mate from up north of ireland

Found part of the problem which was the ignition lead was not screwed into the spark plug cap that was my mistake! Still hard started when cold usually give it a few kicks then electric start and if she fires I have to keep throttle till she warms up then it’s fine

Your idle is too low buddy.
I do turn up the idle till it gets warm otherwise it won’t stay going and then back down to between 1500 and 2000rpm! Hopefully I’ll get to the bottom of the issue soon!
@@DB1410 Get an eBay carburetor kit they're like $20, and completely disassemble and soak those carburetors in a mixture of Pine-Sol and water 50/50 for 24 to 48 hours. Scrub with the toothbrush and reassemble with new parts. Bam. Proper. Set idle, then adjust idle air screw, cut tab off air screw for better tuning

Looked alright a bit dark like it was over fuelling and the gap is correct I’ve spoken to a few lads and they reckon upping the jetting should cure the problem
@@DB1410 upping the jets is gonna make it run richer and make the plug black try checking the needle position

Thanks it’s got it’s issues believe me especially when it comes to cold starts and maintaining idle! Going to try a Ricky’s stator next and see if that cures the problem!

Still have it! Got a mint dyna body to convert to the hiace style cab is stripped for blasting hopefully this summer we will tackle into it!
Just to correct myself it has a 2.4 litre engine the hiace had a 2.2 litre
There’s is crackling to the sound a transformer blew up today close by it may be upsetting the camera!

I love these 70 series and the 40's. It is what I would have if I was not constantly buying mk1 Shogun and Pajero.
Nice Cruiser, will be nice to see it done and well worth it. Ive seen the progress in your May video and its looking good.

WOUW COOL, which engine and gearbox mounts did you use? The one from the LJ78 or the one from the old BJ70Did you have to adjust the lenght of the driveshaft and propshaft?Are you still have the Original 8 inch Landcruiser LJ78 differential's installed?Anney difficult problems on a project like this?Keep uss updated with the project.
+Vegter de vries we used the bj70 mounts both engine and chassis! we modified the bj70 gearbox cross member by cutting it down to fit our custom chassis mounts. we used the lj78 axle side of the prop shafts with the bj70 ends which are a little bit different but the spline were they move/split is the same! i had to take about an inch of the short ends of the props! and it still has its original axles/diffs.

@DB1410 aye all are good on diesel. your one might be a bit quicker than other davy browns because shes the highway one XD

@packie2001 there good enough but it boils down to a healthy engine as well! this engine was rebuilt from top to bottom bar the injector pump which leaks a bit of diesal! this tractor hasent done any work so far as i used it as transport for a while when i started out driving 30 euro worth of diesal would last me a week (back in 2008/9) but it should be better working rather than driving all over wexford and wicklow!
what's the 1410 like on diesel, is she bad or good on it?

the exaust used to be like that on my 1490 until i went round a corner one day and that was the end of that! now i have a straight through exaust and the db makes a lovely sound with turbo 'n all! nice db u got there, whats the year?

hi there can you tell me what sort of oil goes in the gear box plaese
yea someone rewired the tractor and just put a push button start button on it and a toggle switch. there wasnt a wire hooked to this heater. i might retro fit one onto my 6.2L diesel half ton truck. ill just wire it to a pushbutton and put a T fitting in my fuel return line.
supposing youve got the right ignition. ther is a point on teh switch before the engine is able to crank. you hold it there for 30 odd seconds. they work by sensing heat. there is a coil on the heater and it glows red hot this opens a small valve to allow diesel on to the red hot coil causing a fire inside the manifold. easiest way put a push button and the dash and wire it up to that, i did this on a 990.
so they get 12 volts then when you crank it over diesel is pushed into it? or how does it work?
