Good pickings on this day a month or so ago. Have been learning lots and bought a small jewellery lot from marketplace. It was mostly rubbish but I saw two pieces that I liked out of seven pieces. Nice to find a 24 C gold plating over sterling bracelet made in Italy and a designer necklace with a name cartouche. It looks to be smoky quartz or topaz faceted stones cold clear and lovely. It has some gold? little thingies between the stones but so filthy I can’t tell what they might look like when I clean them up. The cartouche says LANG. I did some research. It’s a good find I think. I like it and will wear it happily. Not bad for $10. Silly stories from this lame old duck lol Love your work❤

Hi Jason, I know you hate the word parure - I just want to let you know that the three-piece sets you usually deal with would barely be called parures at all, or even demi-parures. A parure usually has a tiara, a couple of necklaces, at least two bracelets, a pendant, a brooch, earrings and anything else that the jeweller (or commissioner) feels like adding. A demi-parure is generally just tiara, necklace and earrings, and maybe one other piece. I've seen you open a couple of the kind of parure intended for Indian weddings, but I'd be stunned if you got your hands on the other kind.

I prefer stainless steel over sterling. Stainless does not turn my neck and collars black like Sterling does. I don’t even wear my sterling necklaces anymore.

hi Jason, i enjoyed your video very much! i just had to google the pronunciation of parure, lol! It's only like the second time i've heard the term. Its french and the pronunciation in french is pretty, however, difficult i find, for us texans (i grew up in Htown area!), to pronounce the way they do, lol. With the american accenct, it sounds to me like, pa-roar. Also, i've been studying different types of chains and clasps lately & I learned the bolo clasp is called a bolo clasp. I did look it up tho and found that it's also called a slider clasp because on a bolo necklace the portion that moves is called a slide. you pointing those out, I've learned from it! Thank you for your explanations of things like the stainless steal info. and the fact that abalone is no longer mined. this consignor has some beautiful pieces!! 😊

Sweetie, please check out your audio playback on these videos lately, particularly items in the heavy clear plastic sealed packages, when you are unwrapping that stuff you should consider moving your microphone or moving the item further out from things, because the sound on our side - it's volume level i s off the charts- so loud it startled me a few times & I had to mute the sound on the last few videos & again this time. Just thought you'd want to know. 🫂

The Ruby Zoisite is phenomenal. Black Spinel is a huge favorite with me, love the two thin rings. Wow to the Hassenite Garnet. It actually comes in many colors, Garnet that is. The Russian Diopside and then the Pink gems with pearls necklace, that last bracelet, are all super stunning. I have never seen such a delicate bracelet, the thinness and length of the gems is amazing, the color, wow and wow.

I am in the same boat you are in only I have no nieces or nephews. I told my brother that when I pass don't just let stuff go have it liked at I worked in a dept. Store that had jewelry always had something on lay away. It was a great unbox ing many pretty pieces. Thanks again Jason for sharing this with us.
