Get triggers. Use kick mic for another room mic. I have seen people get good results with it kinda floating above the bass drum.

when playing ghost notes does it only pick up the " raw" snare sound......if the mic is poor they could have cut the size of the whole unit good vid tho

Was there a trigger for the cymbals as well? Because the cymbals also sound way different... Sounds like the overheads are not processed, and then you processed them for the 2nd version?

Hey, I saw your comment on the BTS reaction video, popped over to tell you it's so nice to see guys have an open mind about BTS! You could do your own BTS reaction videos lol. They do a lot of genres, and are particularly good at hip-hop. But if you like the more rock sounding songs, I recommend BTS songs like Dionysus, Run BTS, Danger, Fake Love, Run, and Boy In Luv. All those songs have insanely good dance practice videos too. (Run BTS and Run are 2 different songs btw, Run BTS is much newer and does not have a music video, only a dance practice video. Not to be confused with their variety show that is also called Run BTS lol). Also recommend a set of 3 solo songs by their 3 rappers, written based on different psychological concepts of the famous psychiatrist Carl Jung - Intro: Persona by RM Interlude: Shadow by Suga. Outro: Ego by J-Hope The music videos for those 3 songs are titled "comeback trailer". If you want to see another male BTS reactor, check out Anthony Ray, straight male in his late 20s from Belgium. All his BTS reactions are really great, he gone through at least 200+ of their songs already. He's very knowledgeable about rap, so he breaks down the rap aspect of their songs especially well. He's also a big rock/metal fan. Especially recommend his reactions for Outro: Tear, Black Swan, On Kinetic Manifesto, Fake Love, Born Singer, Dionysus, Spinebreaker, Ddaeng, Baepsae, Anpanman, House of Cards. He did a lot of great reactions for the solo work of their 3 rappers RM, Suga/Agust D, and J-Hope too. Highly recommend those as well.

yeah I mean the drum kit sounds incredible, but yeah the differences in a full mix are much to subtle, which is kinda interesting actually, but the other mics are just over powering the OHS I think. Seems like a lot of effort for not really being able to hear the subtle or even drastic differences. For a shootout like this it should captured clean and have absolutely no processing. Just raw audio on just the OH mics.. Otherwise a great job though.

What type of power cable are you using ?????

It's a shame that the internal microphone is so poor. A typical live situation would be to use the natural sound of your snare for the majority of songs and trigger a different sound for a few songs. To do that, and get a good natural snare sound, you would need to use a separate microphone and the RT30. It kind of defeats the purpose.

Where would you download samples from? Can you get Superior Drummer samples into the trigger? I'm VERY interested in this because if the samples are good enough, the FOH depending on the place may want to just run the triggers into their board since that's less compression and EQ work they have to do on their end.

The snare drum (in the mixed drum / no trigger) sounds like a gated drum. Those sample adds more value and depth.

Hey Ben, I was looking for drum triggers to play live samples blended into with the mix. So thank you so much for uploading this! Would you say you prefer this than the Roland RT30 trigger?
