Why such a large range for acceptable values? Is the solution number aimed at halfway between the upper and lower range? My Guide tested at 46 and 304, almost exactly halfway between the ranges. Does that mean it is highly accurate or does the test solution vary so much that the measured number tells you very little? Thanks.

That was super helpful. I was messing around with this thing for four tests and didn’t realize you had to test it on the edge of the strip. I was also screwing up how to use the lancet. The way you showed was way less painful.

So when do you use the hi or low control solutions, after you obtain a blood reading in one of those ranges?

Why are these so expensive? I just checked the local pharmacy Shoppers Drug Mart and they're selling the sensor device for $40 and even more shocking, the strips are $85 for a 100 pack. No idea how much the lancets are but I don't think it would be cheap. I'm not a diabetic but experience frequent symptoms associated with hypoglycaemia and was recommended on Reddit to try and get a glucose meter as a base line. I came across this One Touch brand through random searching. MY question is, are there any self contained unit that will prick and give you a reading all from one device? The running costs of the strips and lancets for this ecosystem seems very redundant.

Trying to set up machine from the start.

I have the same meter, though mine did not come with a case. But my question is, which number gets more of the droplet? I have it on 5 currently, and it is sufficient so far. I wasn't sure if it was a big enough droplet for an accurate reading.

Mine read 165, it's within range, but my glucose test on other brand test kit, Metene always has +20 readings, which puts me in pre-diabetic class. Which one do i trust 🤔

TY -- Hey, can you get control solution somewhere to test that these are accurate? I had my labs taken the other day and used it as a baseline. My results were right near 80 like my labs, so it seems legit, but I have no way to confirm accuracy going forward. This is dangerous for people at high risk of issues from improper blood glucose levels.
