Last Remnant Basics
So I posted a bit of a FAQ on the JRPG subreddit and a user asked me to make a video about the basics of combat and leveling. The game is getting a remaster which comes out in less than 2 days so I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.

Of course he didn’t, shows like peaky blinders, the sopranos, breaking bad are filled with characters who are morally ambiguous. Jeremiah is a Christian preacher but he benefits from the blood money that this gang make.

1:50 apparently it's the decision the character make when the leader is dead, more you have this stat, less he don't do anything.
I just finished my first playthrough (completely blind) I have no idea who any of these characters are or what the heck is going one. What a wild game.
I'd love the complete story, just the dialogue, no commentary.
Sadly, this game is no longer playable for me. It is interesting, though.
If anything, you can get it on mobile, Switch , or PS4/5
I'm finding it hard not to grind lower br enemies since I'm trying to get something for David that just so happens to be very rare lol
Yeah the drop rates are wild in this game. What makes it worse is some monsters only spawn for certain BR intervals. If anything, there's always NG+

do you have battle prompts (press x, y, L1 etc) set to manual or auto. playing on my steam deck
It depends for me. If I'm grinding for skills and stats, I set everything to manual and mess up the triggers on purpose so I don't kill them too fast and my team can get hit so their HP goes up. However, once I got Mystic Seal formation (it nerfs tf out of your stats but very useful for skill grinding), I set it all to auto since it didn't matter. But in general I set everything to manual

Your stats play a much more important role than your BR. If you're still having issues with it, Ancient Ruins is the best place to level up stats, even at relatively high BRs. Which version are you playing?
@@Sammy102093 I love how you recommended an area locked behind the Fallen - a boss way harder than the Conqueror. Seriously, where's the sense there?
@@mattandrews2594 PC version locked Ancient Ruins behind The Fallen. Original 360 version didn't lock it behind anything, just needed to update the game.

Just about to start on Switch for the first time. Outstanding video! Do you know if BR is fixed on the switch as is remastered. I'll be careful not grinding weak enemies regardless. Thank you.
As far as I know, the switch version is the remastered version so the BR is a lot more flexible than the original release. You can still fight weak enemies as long as your starting morale is in the center or lower than the enemies in a regular encounter.

before i love this game, Legend of the Dragon PS1 in my heart
I remember playing this game when it first came out, I fought everything and basically got my BR too high and can't beat some boss fight. After I looked up a low BR walkthrough, that just didn't look fun at all. I really wish they would've put a cap on the story boss' levels, so I can at least grind my way through the main story.
If you play the 360 version, the BR scaling was so bad. The PC version fixed it so it scales much slower and fighting large groups doesn't spike it like it did on console

If you stat level her Intellect, it is basically limitless. Even though Omnistrike is a physical Unique Art, it scales with Intellect

It's not that he's too weak exactly. For single/low enemy count fights, Physical attacks and single target arts work better since there aren't enough targets for spells like Permafrost or Hexes to deal serious enough damage.

Just finish the game. Man...the worst part about this game for me is when all of the choices available for all teams have combat/mystic attacks then got killed by the boss's counter. No stand by, no defense, no healing, no escape. I hate this part the most. What the shit combat design for such RPG man...
The commands are heavily based on the classes. Like Paladins and Cavaliers will get defend, Rangers will get long range attacks, etc. You can also disable commands to limit what they're allowed to use
So sad :'(

Thanks for this video! Hard to find info on this underappreciated gem of a game. I've played off and on since 360, but am getting ready to complete my full first playthrough on Switch, and learned some great things from this video.
Its a gem but a very rough one. My first play through got basically unplayable because i thought BR is my level so i pushed it as high as possible.
I feel like I played this wrong after seeing your characters in action. Wondering if I should restart my game.
Not necessarily, you can grind as much as you like for True Conqueror since his stats are locked. However that is one of the reasons The Last Remnant wasn't received overwhelmingly well - you basically had to look up a guide on how to level properly or you'd screw yourself royally.

The worst part about them setting it up for a sequel besides obviously never getting one is the director for this game works on FFXIV. In a question session they asked him if there'd ever be a sequel. He responded "Of course! If enough people ask for it". Translation: Nope.
