Why Epidemic Sound SUCKS... | Artlist Vs. Epidemic

I go over why Artlist Music, is BETTER than Epidemic Sound! Epidemic Sound is a Swedish royalty-free soundtrack providing company based in Stockholm, Sweden. Great info as always
yessir lonnie!
Great video, marred by bad shake.
🔥🔥
YUHHHH
Nice improvement! What you say makes great sense and just to add, waterfront property will always be a good investment. We have a waterfront summer home in Maine on a pond that has gone way way up in value since it was bought in 1970''s
Thank you!! Sounds like a beautiful property!
your video is the wrong way you must have recorded in selfie mode on iphone?
Great information David. Try a little less contrasting colors for your key light. Just subscribed. 🔥
I’m not actually trying to light well “professionally”, but thank you for watching! Appreciate it g
next time mirror ur video ;)!
I own the Sigma 35mm f1.2 DG DN since 2021, best choice of my life
For video?! What kind of projects do you shoot??
@@Daviddrentbronner no, I am a photographer mainly
I do not feel you are going to find a better back than the @RigidPRO! It is a better back and has more features. I have several FX3s and I only consider the RigidPRO's now and they all get riggged into them.
thats great!!
thanks for the comments! we're glad you love it as much as we do! :)
a curiosity, but why is the video reversed? it's all on the opposite side 😅😅😅are you English and drive on the right? 🤣🤣🤣
Bro can’t do 2+2=4
hey brother, beautiful there, it doesn't make sense, don't do so many calculations, it doesn't make sense to post a speculated video. Peace and love brother!🤟🤙✌@@Daviddrentbronner
I wouldn’t recommend getting an MKH 416, or any shotgun mic for that matter, as your camera microphone. Instead, you should consider a hypercardioid, such as the MKH 50. The problem with shotgun mics is that they’re difficult to balance on a camera rig due to their size and long interference tube, and add a lot of bulk to your rig, and your camera is not necessarily going to be perfectly on-axis with your talent. Hypercardioids are more forgiving; while still directional, you don’t have to be perfectly on axis, and voices sound more natural even when off-axis. They also balance much easier on a camera rig and don’t add too much bulk. There aren’t a ton of budget friendly hypercardioids out there like there are shotguns, but there are a few, such as the Audix SCX1-HC.
thanks for the info! i think i do remember hearing about those mics a while ago. So that'll be my next one! thanks
For interest sake, we designed a prototype out of aluminium. The final weight was just too heavy compared to the (super light) final carbon fibre/pet composite material we settled on. As for the distance between the camera body and the camera base - we increased it based on feedback from the first version, as people wanted more space to tuck cables in (particularly the voltage regulation box for the USB-C cable). We're glad you're enjoying the rig!
For sure!! I’m still super happy with mine!
Need one
How about us, canon users?
Great info David
thank you lonnie!
Beginner era of buying equipment lol? Bruh you’ve got like 6-7k worth of gear 😂🔥
Hahahahaha
I’m contemplating buying this but the only thing I’m worried about is powering the fx3 with a dummy battery. With the latest firmware update Ik people are saying that they’re getting an error when they connect it. Also I don’t want to use usbc because of the power drain and the potential of the port possibly breaking. Have you had any issues while using a dummy battery also do you recommend I power using either dummy battery or usb c or just having a bunch of regular Sony batteries.
I did have concerns using a dummy battery as well. But as long as you get the one from kondor blue, you won’t have any issues.
@@Daviddrentbronner are you on the latest firmware update? Because I heard that’s what’s been causing the problem. If your camera is on the latest update and you aren’t having any issues with the Kondor blue battery I’m going to buy one of these rigs asap
Yes I’m on the newest update. Everything seems fine
@@Daviddrentbronnerok great thank for answering my questions. Please let me know if u run into any issues with the dummy battery
I have mine powered by a pd usb c cable and it works great, gives me hot swapple feature too
Nice rig, but it would be so much easier to just buy a camcorder.
Not the camcorder 😭😭
That's so interesting, amazing camera and features and looks like it's not super heavy
It’s not! It’s a great small setup
Awsome information David
Thanks Lonnie!!
😂 'Promo sm'
hahahaha
I’m gonna be honest it seems like you have no idea what you are talking about. Can’t take off your handle, calling the screw on your matte box a little twisty guy, saying uhhh after almost any product. Disrespecting Caleb Pike by not naming him, just say “the Camera Foundery guy, I forgot what his name is”. Saying the display shows the “power or volts left or whatever”, you need to make a script and more sure about what you are speaking on. This video is horrible and I mean that will respect
Fair points buddy 🤝
@@Natalie23 constructive criticism is what it is
@@uptonfilms95hey bucko worry about your self man! No body cares about you criticisms man. This dude is extremely excited to show off his rig. And he’s filming, which Is practice.. get up out your own b-hole and worry about your own work. Instead of trying to be condescending over the internet. I bet you get no choochie in real life. David keep up the good work, and sick rig bud!
@uptonfilms95 A little harsh, but good feedback none the less, and I agree with the points even though I'm not a fan of the tone. Keep it up @David, you got yourself a new sub.
Cut him some slack... It's his 2nd vlog
I suscribed immediately.
Thank you!
I'll stick to Kevin MacLeod now.
But why making a fx3 big as a fx6? Only advantage of the fx3 compared to the fx6 is the size.. honest question, don’t want to hate
All good, no hate taken haha. Aside from the FX6 being out of my budget range. This is just one way I rig my fx3. If I have the time, I’ll rip it down to the body and top handle and just use the Sony batteries, but sometimes I don’t want to deal with the battery change. The FX6 you need to have the monitor that comes with it at all times. Plus I don’t have the option to break it down smaller, kinda like you said. Sometimes I want a big heavy rig, sometimes I just want the body and handle, which I do occasionally
Probably versatility. You can build up an FX3 to the size and “Rig-ability” of an FX6 when you need to and then tear it down when you need something compact and inconspicuous. You can build up an FX6 but you can’t tear it down to be compact like the FX3.
Hey, sweet rig, great to see you breaking it down not sure what device you are using to record audio but if you didn't know you can hear the lawn mower in the background I can highly recommend the dji mics for iphone recording it will cut out any background noise within reason. Great work keep it up! cant wait to see more videos from you!! you have a new sub :)
Thank you! Yeah i mentioned it when recording when that started, but i cut it out. In no way are these vlogs supposed to be well produced or fancy. But I’ll consider it for next time! Thank you for viewing!
you are pissing me off because I want FX 30 and I’m 19 good for you tho lol
I got the FX30 when I was 18-19 as well. You got this bro. Make sure to buy full frame glass so you won’t have to upgrade lenses when you get the fx3. I used it for a while, took me maybe another year to get the fx3. And I ain’t rich, I just knew if I invested into the fx3 I would be very happy with it for a long time.
It‘s okay you will have one
@@Daviddrentbronnerhaha thanks for the advice getting the full frame lenses first is smart
should have lowered your iso. good set up though.
It’s an iPhone
Hey, just curious. Why did you end up selling your ninja V? Is pro res too cumbersome to edit with? Thanks 🎉 nice breakdown
I totally understand if the features for recording it has is something you want. But I don’t find myself needing any of the recording features, but why I sold it is because 24/7 it has a small fan running, and that sound would always interfere with my shotgun, mic that was next to it.
The Ninja V also has a terrible magenta/red color cast/shift as well. Not as bad on the Shinobi, but they still need calibrated, and that requires another expensive Atamos piece of gear.
@@benjamin.kelley thanks for the info! Yeah it sucks for that. But still a solid piece of gear!! Even smallHD needs to be calibrated lol
Nice rig! Thanks for sharing. When filming selfie mode don’t forget to mirror the image. This is wild seeing a backwards camera 😁

Omg the song 🔥

hows bro at 53 subs
Hahaha, thank you
That’s a cool recap! Bet you got some good experience. Did you say you are paying the colorist? If you’re uncompensated then the producer/director should be converting those costs.
Thanks for the comment David! Yes I did pay the colorist. I definitely could and probably should have asked, but not many people in this situation were getting paid. I hardly know if the producer was, I don’t think he was. It was kinda spec work for everyone, but generally yes, cause I wasn’t hired, I could have handed this edit off to the producer with just raw footage if I wanted. But I wanted to do him good and cover it myself. But generally yes, i hardly ever do free spec work anyways haha
Let me know if this solved your issue!
Glad I saw this… I was just about to sign up for epidemic sound
Great advice! Tks, from Brazil! Going to check Artlist!
Cools thx my dude 🤙🏼
Been almost 2 years on epidemic and i find it really crap. Most garbage they have are terrible quality audio. And most of it is afro shit senseless music. Like repeating the same absolutly garbage for 2 or 3 minutes.and they keep offering me the same kind of stuff i never use. Really stupid place. How can anyone call him or her an artist when all you do is noisy garbage? Are they paying you for the crap you do? All sounds look like they have some kind of noise on the background perhaps to cheat easy the original song. Don't know until when will i keep paying for the garbage they have as not sure where shall i go.
I was seriously considering buying it, however this calmed my curiosity and satisfied my wish to know more.
Good stuff. I'm thinking about get one because I love to through in sound! Artist also has video!
True! I would go with artlist, but epidemic if you can’t afford to pay for a year upfront which they do
We have subscriptions to both and artlist sucks, they don't have the kind of music we're looking for
what kind are you looking for?
@@Daviddrentbronner Original beats, quality house and techno music without all the quirky stuff. Epidemic sound has some but they are very limited. Both of these music services prioritize trap music mumble rap. I only found one electronic music song that I like on artlist and I've sampled hundreds of their songs by now if not thousands. We also have musicbed, they have quality music but it's too upbeat, too aggressive, and to fast most of their songs. I'm on a quest to find other music services for content creators and this field is really lacking period
That’s true. At that point, maybe try going onto beat websites, and buy individual beats from sites that real quality individuals are posting.
@@Daviddrentbronner Can you give me an example of one, I'm desperate to find new music for my CZcams channel
@@revealhawaiimedia808 Please let me know if you find it. I use epidemic now and I HATE it, Feels like everything sounds the same
You answered all my questions! Thanks! Subbed!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I heard about this one site, where you can license very famous songs / mainstream music for one specific video project. But I lost the link, does anyone know about that site?
I saw someone else say Likd or something like that
Yeah exactly, I did a project for a local event and obviously the clients did not want me to upload to my own channels insta, fb, etc....Which then meant They couldn't use it.. what's the point of me paying for something that I can't give to my clients? 🤷♂️ absolutely SCAM to give ES money and then my clients have pay a subscrption to e.s if they want to use it on their own social media accounts even tho I've already paid for it?... Complete SCAM tbh! Yeah fair enough the music was good, BUT' ES sounds are Aaaall over youtube now they've become so repetive and boring as hell it's Everywhere. Great platform, stupid policy... it will break them eventually.
exactly
You should find a stand for the microphone. You use your hands to talk which is fine, but moving the mic moves around your volume and it is distracting. A stand will take care of that. It’s a good microphone. Video is good. Sound is distracting.
he's using his iPhone as a mic
Hey you should probably keep making videos cause you’re good at this
i appreciate it man!
