Used this song once to explain that Punk was an attitude not a musical style to someone. He understood.
Nancy Wilson led me to this via Nazareth via Barracuda.
I hear Page in this. I've no doubt he's heard Rory. What a compliment to Rory.
❤
❤
It’s the difference that make them both so good
Top muso's Alex & his lads ... Sensational is actually an understatement, all those who saw Alex live will agree He & Them were Mesmerising !
Never knew this was a cover... born in 1965. Astounding... amazing tuning .. she is a genius.
Does anyone know if the Weavers, or Fred Hellerman, did a version of this? I'm not finding anything to say so, and we did have the Pentangle album at home, but I have this feeling that I also heard it by the Weavers. 😁
Diese Stimme ist einfach einmalig Grandios, unwiederbringlich ❤
Can't help but to tear up!❤😢
She wrote the song and then Nazareth made the music around it
it was considered THE benchmark of a good guitar player to be able to play this tune in the 1960's and Burt Jantz, the Beatles, & the 'Stones and so many others recorded this! Davey's version though I still think is the best!
I don't think the Stones ever did this Angi - this is purely instrumental, while Angie definitely had words and a different melody.
I always liked this. I used to sit waiting for the note at 1.11. It used to make me smile. Still does.
Wow
Jane Free was actually Carole Muriel. This is one of the finest examples of Kraut/Space Rock EVER!
" what kind of life is not an exhibition" words that completely muse me 🤗🙏
I was very young with a shitty car and a terrible job and some tapes. Rory was a huge part of my youth. We had nobody but Rory was there. Live from North Carolina .🙏🌹🇮🇪🦅💓🦋
Rory
Mark lanegan One thing..... Amazing voice
I actually got to see him at a small bar in Michigan before he passed. My brother took me who was a huge fan what i couldn’t get over was his playing and he actually stood at the door and greeted everybody, shook their hand and thanked thanked them for coming like a preacher at church does for coming when leaving! A class act! There will never be another I will go to my grave with Rory I wish I was half and he was
es gibt nichts hinzuzufügen und nichts wegzulassen
rory was one of the great guitarist who played the blues with passion and his recognizable sound like SRV and JH and now we have thank God Kingfish …so the blues still lives
❤
Wow
MAN!!!! THIS SONG AND HER VOICE, AND THE TEMPO, THIS LITERALLY BRINGS TEARS OF JOY TO ME WHENEVER I LISTEN.... ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SONG, STUNNING VOICE, STUNNING WOMEN, INCREDIBLE TALENT LIKE A GODDESS FROM OLYMPUS . GOD BLESS YOU JONEY, YOU MAKE ME CRY TEARS OF BLISS AND MOVE THE FOUNDATIONS OF MY HEART AND SOUL. GOD BLESS YOU
Manny Charlton was a genius
This iconic song indirectly led to the inspiration for another iconic song. 'This Flight Tonight' from "Blue" (1971) by Joni Mitchell led to the Nazareth version from "Loud 'n' Proud" (1973), the riff of which inspired 'Barracuda' from "Little Queen" (1977) by Heart.
Miss you man....😥
Vambo rools in hot city
Outdstanding voice of Mark lanegan unforgetable R.I.P....my friend
What happen to my name ,it's gone,Rory is unbelivable extradinare Guitarist
funny how she started the riff that turned into Hearts Barracuda
I had no idea she was the original singer until I saw a comment on Nazareth’s video! I love it.
4 ever
Nazareth made this Song perfect
First tine hearing this, totally different to Nazareth, but still superb.
Unbelievable guitarist! My second favorite guitarist after Hendrix !!
A song first recorded in 1966 I believe. This is the US edition of the song which was first recorded for the album "Bert And John", released in the UK as Transatlantic Records TRA 144. It is track 7 (the first song on side two, seventh overall) on this US album, released on the Vanguard label in 1968 - NOT 1969, as stated here. A beautifully serene instrumental by two masters of their craft. Deservedly hallowed and much missed by those in the know.
Pure spirit
Schönes Lied
nunca tive a oportunidade de poder falar sobre tudo o que essa música me deu... que maravilha ler tanto depoimento parecido com o quye eu daria. só te digo uma coisa: sleep dirt salvou minha vida. GOD BLESS FZ!!!!!
That bottom string is tuned an octave below the 5th string. I use a .070 electric string. Flaps around like a pair of bell bottomed pants.
Yes ggdgbd capo 1 = G# same tuning as electricity which is capo 4. Nathan lafreniere works too
I think that it will sound even better with a .70 phosphor bronze string tuned to G droning away
The Nazareth version is one of my favourite songs of all time. I love this original version, especially the fantastic acoustic guitar, plus Joni's vocals are always amazing :)
theeeeee BEST !!!!!!!
Потрясающе. Мне вся Джони митчел нравится.
Amazing & beautiful!! 👏
Best Ever!!!
Very smooth garbage man with the brilliant Lou Martin on keyboards alike in the version in Essen, listen to the garbage man in Chicago, Rory makes the job with a devilish solo which put the audience upside down
Beautiful song, but for me, Nazareth version is way better than the original.
Ein kleines Wunder 🐦
