Hi, I'm seeing your video for the first time, this one made me want to see more. Unfortunately, I noticed from the other two I saw that I couldn't save them on CZcams Playlist for future references because you didn't allow/enable it, or the videos are categorized as contents made for kids. Is this intentional?
@@olua.o.6610 oh not at all. Guess youtube set it that way
@@augustineefeola Okay, noted.

Hey! Great content. Why don’t you use smzeus . c o m to help grow your channel?
Hello Olaijo Nice. I do like drums but have never drummed before. I am thinking of it as a leisure activity. How do I get started?
Well first you need to first get your own personal drum of your interest. You can start from the smallest which is not too expensive or from the highest which is expensive, it depend on how buoyant you're financially. Then after you have your own personal instrument, you can now seek for an instructor to teach and put you through. Is easier that way. Hope this help?
Post more video Baba 🙏🏾💓
Okay I will. Is all a matter of time. Have been so engaged lately. But will drop more post.
😂 😂 I do hope I can learn to play this
Sure you can😀. Kiko ni mimo. Is a matter of individual interest.
Thanks for the tutorial .
You're welcome.
Thank you Augustine! This was a great tutorial! I am a white American but I am very, very familiar with the Yoruba tradition/culture. I am fascinated with it and especially with the music! I love the sound of the omele bata and the other bata drums in the ensemble. If you don't mind, could you describe to me what this drum looks like, as I am blind and cannot see the video? Is it one single drum or is it three separate drums, or a drum with three heads? I'm confused. I know you said that the ida helps to change the pitch, but how exactly?
Thanks Nerd. The drum has a cone shape and is dual facet. One with big face and the other drum face is very small. Is there separate drum. The Ida is only meant for the tunning of the drum. So the more you apply it on the drum face is the more the sound change. That's why the drum gives an accurate sound of doh reh mi.
Augustine Efe Ola Thanks for the reply Augustine! I knew the bata are cone-shaped, I know also that the omele are three small bata tied together.
Nice one bro! I really love the dance piece
AKEREBULU SEGUN Thanks bro. I appreciate ❤
If the tonations on the omele are slightly off, is there a way to tune the drums?
Yes. First the problem might be from the tuning wax or the skin. if the problem is from the skin, that means you'll have to tighten the Antelope string called osan and if it from the tunning wax called ida, that means you'll have to change it.
Augustine Efe Ola I really appreciate your response brother. I just picked up the drums last week and I’m in the U.S (Atlanta). I believe the drum skin is in great condition, but the ida seems to be peeling off slightly. What substance can I use as alternative?
Am sorry there's no alternative. There's nothing you can use to improvise. The Ida is specially design for the bata drum and few drum from the Yoruba tribe of Africa and Diaspora. The only thing you can do is to protect the ida on your drum by covering it with Lyon and the face has stain already, you can use kerosene to clean it, the face will become white again but don't let the kerosene to touch the side of the ida. You can keep on managing it till you come back to Nigeria and change the ida.
keep posting bro.. u really helped me
Thanks
Beautiful, my brother. I enjoy you.
Prof. Moyo Okediji Thank you very Much Sir!
