Howe work for Whelen at the Frankford arsenal. Howe named the cartridge after Col. Whelen. That is from all the information I found on the cartridge over the years. I have always wanted to get a bolt action rifle in that caliber but never had the money when they were in factory rifles and can't afford a custom rifle.

Wish mine was this reliable. I had the recall done a couple months ago . Haven’t shot it yet but hope it fixes the failure to load issues I had .

I have the .45 ACP Ruger American and it is absolutely an accurate, reliable pistol. A set of Talon Grips took care of the slippery issues. Has been my Winter EDC for the past three years.
