Hi leonard bit of a weird one but did you know someone by the name Emily Middleton from Milton Keynes around 90/91? She's my mum and she gave me a tape of 'Rave Tunes' a couple months back that was given her by a mate in 91 and i've noticed it seems to have the exact same mix of tracks as the ones played as you drove around in this video. Just wondering if I have your tape!

The good old days when you could drive past The Point, before they built 'The New Bit' and killed the old oak tree. I remember feeling sad about the Studio in Bletchley closing down, but happy about the shiny new multiplex at the city centre. I wonder how much longer the Xscape cinema will last, it's getting on a bit itself, now.

Good video. Alligator is the best saw for cutting up fallen limbs and branches. Why? because branches and limbs are held by the jaws and easy to cut. You can cut branches on the ground. I tried a sawzall or reciprocating saw for fallen limbs/branches and couldn't cut them.

This is so poignant. I lived in MK from 1980- 1995, 25 when I left. So you’ve captured the last ‘moments’ of my life there perfectly. I’ve not been back to that part of MK since - so in my head it’s still like this 😄

You do absolutely have to have a car in Kingsmead, don't you?. What on earth do you do if you haven't? How do you get to the shops ( if there are any) or to the doctor? You can see where the original villages were ... curvy and nice....but the rest of it is soulless. Why did the planners isolate the people from the amenities? I didn't even see a bus stop and zero food shops... The planners claimed a 'forest city'. I see no signs of that. You'd think, given the way everything is spread out that there was as much space in England as in the USA. American style motor centric commuter suburb.

My word! This is HORRIBLE so dilapidated and third world...It is a beautiful late Summer early Autumn's day - will never look better than this. It looks like some sort of prisoner camp. Thousands of acres of beautiful country destroyed for this? Do the planners live here - town councillors? Cars everywhere... no bus stops .... how can those with no cars get about? If you are old and very young and its raining..... Where are the shops.. the health services, the cafés, the art galleries, the gyms....the swimming pool...a school, a crèche a hairdressers? Answer there aren't. I saw nothing that would make a community....Do the planners live here? Why not? I see potholed roads... no parkland or playing field or children's play area. The way the barracks are spread out makes any community life difficult. The houses rather being straight lines could have curved round a village green with some local amenities... but no.. this is car city wasteland

What a horrible grid motor city - the worst of America!! Just multi lane highways, cars, car parks ,pollution and concrete and asphalt and road noise and commercial chains ...now local shops but very large healthy McDonalds etc plus traffic jams😞 Extremely ugly concrete slab buildings...nothing creative (' midsummer boulevard' as a name is an example of the lack of creativity - boulevard! in England - American influence) nothing organic...Hideous. Wasn't it supposed to be 'forest city'? What a joke. Just see some spindly very young looking sparse trees.....the place started in 1968!!! All that farmland, green fields, woods with all the insects and animals and fish destroyed for this ...acres and acres of concrete and asphalt, office blocks and McDonalds ... This video was back in 1993 - since then people massively don't go to 'malls' etc but shop on line, many people no longer work in offices but from home at least a few days a week. What's with all those office blocks and 'commercial' centres now? DYSTOPIA! The people who say they liked it on here aren't there now and what they liked you'd find anywhere.

Going down h9 groveway past open University slip road in forgotten about that there is another roundabout outside there now. Further down they where buildings walnut tree and Kents hill developments. A lot has changed in those 30 something years.

Hi, I just watched your drive around video from 1991 and made me feel I was back in time I wished those times would be everlasting the music the cars no speed cameras drive as fast as you like, im now 53 but thankyou that really brought it all back for me I was 21 at that time .I had a A registration XR3 I at that time picking up a different girlfriend every night and cruising around I wish those times never changed .Thankyou again

Went into that Evesham Micros shop in ‘93/‘94 and was blown away by a P90 smoothly running Doom (unlike my 386 at home poor thing)

I was 18 when this video was made, I didn't start to learn to Drive until i was 20! I find this video of MK from the early 90's brilliant as my first and only visit to MK has been much more recent wich was 2021
