Sunderland AFC - 3 Own Goals in 7 minutes (2003)
Playing at home to another relegation threatened side in Charlton Athletic, the Black Cats would go on to lose the game 3-1, after scoring a hat-trick of own goals in seven first half minutes.
Full-back Steven Wright opened the floodgates by flicking a deflected Mark Fish shot into his own net before youngster and future lower-league journeyman Michael Proctor accidentally bundled two more past a helpless Thomas Sorensen.
Manager Howard Wilkinson, head bowed in embarrassment, promptly walked off down the tunnel. The fans slowly began to filter out, and if ever there is a time where it is okay to leave early it would be after you just watched your side score three own goals in one half. Sunderland sank to the bottom of the league for the first time that season and would remain there for another 113 days.
To concede one own goal in a game is unfortunate enough. But three in seven minutes is ample enough evidence to suggest that God had decided to be a Newcastle fan during 2003.

Cough and Taylor would have been a brilliant team for England. They won the league title with a totally unfashionable team with Derby. Had the FA gone with Clough/Taylor instead of Don Revie, England would have been a much better outfit in the 1970’s.

Sir Geoffrey the Judas Yorkshireman who is a Scumchester Utd supporter points out Clough said the players he took over were too old . The same players got Leeds to the European Cup final ( Champions League final ) that season after Clough left . As a Leeds fan i would say Clough was one of the best managers England has ever seen , no doubt about that but if he had been a bit cleverer, once he decided to take the Leeds job he should have put his personal prejudices out of it as it's so unprofessional and amateurish to allow those to affect his relationship with his players.

Nowhere near the greatest by any means in my book. Firstly, he could never maintain any success. He won things but he never won them again year after year after year and secondly he didn't achieve anything on his own, it was all with Peter Taylor and when Taylor left all he did o note was relegate Forest. Not fit to tie Guardiola's shoelaces and DEFINITELY not fit to kiss Alex Ferguson's shoes

Prior to home games we used to drink in the pubs around Trent Bridge, the Southbank was/is a popular choice to start from and one time I walked in for our pre-match meeting and I couldn't believe my eyes - John McGovern, who was a club ambassador by then was at the bar and with him was a musician I instantly recognised. I've always been into rock music and asked "s'cuse me mate, are you Malcolm Young?" "Yep" I was gobsmacked. I had a chat with them - it turned out that Forest had been on one of their European flights and AC/DC were on it too. John and Malcolm had started chatting and became friends and Malcolm was attending as his guest. Can't recall who we were playing that day but it definitely wasn't Newcastle as Brian Johnson would have been there too!

This weekend I have watched 3 games wolves, Liverpool and Spurs. These three teams and the rest of football should look at how they play a football match. This nonsense about game management and all the other shit speak commentators come out with has to stop. I CANT BELIEVE how many times I have seen a player stop going forward and actually dribble past an opponent to get the ball back to his defence. Then they spend a minute or so recycling the play to move the other team about. If you get the opportunity get up the other goal and put the ball in the net. PLAY FOOTBALL and stop pretending you’re playing football.
