Twenty five years ago, two youngsters started the Blues Wire, the
most important and influential band in Greece. To many, this band
is Europes best kept blues secret and they deserve wider recognition.
Elias Zaikos and Sotiris Zissis are the founding members, and
their love for the blues is a never ending path. After more than ten
albums, a dvd and thousands of gigs, this love and dedication seems to grow even stronger.
Their new project, ACOUSTIK WIRE, reflects the first steps of the
duo into the magical trip of music. By using acoustic instruments,
they testify their own unique brand of an undying sound.
Acoustik wire sound traditional and refreshing at the same time.
They blend blues, country, ballads and originals into an eclectic and soulful mix that combines the enthusiasm of true lovers and the experience of veteran players, delivering music with humor, deep knowledge and great authority.

Thats my old buddie Pete DeCoste on drums. I played with Pete for about 5 years back in post high school days. We just did a reunion with one of our old bands. What a gas that was. Petes's got a great feel now. We were all kind of neurotic and rushy back then.

Αυτό το Παραρλάμα τι είναι ρε παιδιά; Φωτίστε κι εμάς τους νεότερους. Εγώ πρώτη φορά που είδα τους Βlues Wire ήταν στον Παπαγάλο, Θεσσαλονίκη το 2003. Ο κύριος που έσυρε στο live τον έφηβο και ψαρωμένο (τότε) υποφαινόμενο, μου είπε στην αρχή "απλά άκου". Θα είμαι για πάντα λάτρης.
το Παραρλαμα ηταν το club που παιζαμε απο το 1986 ως το 1991 .ενα μικρο μαγαζι 150 ατομων στην Βελισσαριου πισω απο το ραδιο σιτυ.παιζαμε σχεδον 8 μηνες τον χρονο ,καθημερινα και χαρακτηριστηκε σαν ενα απο τα πρωτα και καλλιτερα blues rock club της Ελλαδας γιατι φιλοξενησε πολα ονοματα απο ελλαδα και εξωτερικο.ηταν και ο προπομπος του μυλου στον οποιο συνεχισαμε σαν blues wire μεχρι τουλαχιστον το 97.
Nick Dounoussis σας ειχα δει στο rock bar 1897 στην Γραμματικού, έξω από το Αγρίνιο,πριν χρονια...τότε που ήσασταν στημένοι και παίζατε πάνω στην σκάλα...ήσασταν απίστευτοι..

Να ξερετε οτι οι Blues Wire κανουν ακομα εμφανίσεις στο Blue Barrel στη Θεσσαλονικη
κάθε Πέμπτη παίρναμε 2 λεωφορεία να πάμε να τους ακούσουμε στο Παραρλαμα και μας έβαζαν μέσα παρόλο που είμασταν ανηλικα και δεν είχαμε λεφτά ούτε για πορτοκαλάδα...

Τους ευχαριστώ για την υπέροχη μουσική τους,τα καλύτερα βράδια της νιότης μου στο Παραρλάμα και τέλος γιατί κράτησαν και κρατούν μέχρι σήμερα ψηλά την σημαία του Blues στην Ελλάδα και σε όλη τη Ευρώπη...να είστε καλά..

i am 20 years old, i first met hubert when i was 13 his words to me were always the same "you gon' make it, just cuz you started out rite and you playin good" he was fun and a great time...ha one time he was up with pinetop and ike turner and he saw me standing in the front after just playing on a another stage earlier and the band got real quiet and he grabs the mic and says "c'mon boy and get some" so i strapped on my axe and played the set with those guys :) greatest day of my life r.i.p. Hu'

love the man - kind, wonderfully talented and so warm ... RIP the GREAT Hubert Sumlin. James Cotton is the best! ... hope he lives a long, healthy life... he's married 20 years to a pretty lady who adores him. I met them both at the latest King Biscuit -26- - lost too many this year.
