I started grooming Sadie Grace last year and it's definitely a cost saver to do it at home, but it's also a lot of work! Shih Tzus are high maintenance with their grooming needs! 🤗

Shih Tzus may not run marathons but they sure can run a mean 100 meters. And taking off up the stairs is a piece of cake for them,. 😁💞 Tho wouldn't advice to let them run up the stairs too frequently coz it's bad for their joints. 👍🏻🙏🏻

I have most of these. The only one is barking. My guy does not bark at all in the house. Only outside of neighbor’s dogs are near the fence.

My shih tzu is getting crazy and cry when I leave him alone if I go to pick up kids from school it takes half an hour and he keep scratching door for half an hour and getting angry when I come back.

They kept us laughing with their antics for fourteen years and they always had each other. Getting litter mates was the happiest thing I've ever done.

My 6 month old Shih Tzu is a Bundle of energy. He is people and dog friendly. His training is going well, he barks at us (talking). The biggest issue I have is his mouthing/puppy biting! He is a maniac and refuses to be redirected, so we walk away when he goes crazy until he settles down. I'm hopeful this will stop soon. Other than that I have no complaints.

Always search what foods NOT to feed them. Don't over feed because you don't want them unhealthy, diabetic or over weight which can also cause painful joints. As they get older watch their teeth and soften any kibble you feed them. Canned meat food.

Yes,totally agree with the 3rd one My dog needed a 6month training to learn to do business in the house,sometimes she did the right thing and then the next time on the floor 😂 I remember that time as a “prison time” because i was with her in one room where the pad was so once she needed to pee I would transfer her immediately on the pad😂 Now she is like a pro but prefers to do business outside😂😂

A lot of talking but do YOU know what a Shih-Tzu looks like 😆 Most of the examples are unrelated to the "types" described (colors and faults are not types)... and far from pedigree dogs! I doubt it's difficult to ask for quality pictures/videos in full coat to owners and breeders...

Puppy pads and common sense helps with house breaking. Right after eating place in a box with puppy pad sit with them and WAIT. Eventually puppy pad can be placed by the door and of course taking outside to same area. Picky about foods well don't feed a cheap junk food. Get freeze dried they don't eat much so the cost is worth better health with freeze dried NOT commercial food. Barking is their talking be patient with this never any harsh punishment. Distraction with a toy wonderful. Don't give treats, give hugs and a tummy rub or scratches behind ears. Kindness and hugs far outweighs treats!
