Mystery Wheel Wood Shop Project - Inkscape
How to use Inkscape to create plans to mark on wood using a laser or print out and glue to wood. This project is a decision wheel that spins and lands on something to make a choice for you. The pieces will be cut out using a bandsaw. The circle can be cut with a hole saw or scroll saw or a jig with a router table. We are using very small (7 mm) bearings to let the wheel spin. We are engraving the choices on the face of the wheel.

My school doesn't have the Google Assignments option -- just Google Drive Assignments. Is there a workaround?
Definitely worth the effort if it prevents even one Zoombomb during a course. I was doing a recurring Zoom link in the past and students were successfully able to get into my Zooms, but recently, since I started doing the methods in this video, I've had students say the link doesn't work, it's asking them to sign in, etc.. Is the only reason the link might not work because they did not reload the Schoology page and click the link close enough to class start time--aka when the link was freshly posted?
Michael Donahue often it is because I did not take down the old link after class. They also might need to refresh after you post the link. That’s why I change the text above the button.

Super helpful. I learned a lot. Thanks, Trevor! Does clicking the three dots permanently rename them? I thought I had issues in the past with it not working permanently.
It is not permanent in that they can change it. That’s a good thing for shared devices. Most of my students have checked the box that has it remember the last name they used. That is why it can be helpful for you to rename them. If students are renaming themselves to disrupt, you should deal with that using class management techniques. You can look at a usage report on zoom.us after the meeting if you can’t figure out who was who.
@@STEAMLabVO I should have clarified when I said permanently, I meant from Zoom to Zoom. I'm still having difficulty with students showing their full name before they enter the waiting room. The district wants this and it is meant as a prevention against Zoombombing.
Michael Donahue it really depends on the device they are using. With personal and shared devices it is not reasonable to assume that all students will be able to have their name set correctly before they enter class. Hopefully student accounts will help but it is unlikely to be 100% for all students. That’s why these strategies allow you to give access to all students while protecting them from zoombombing.

Super helpful video. There were many advanced features I didn't know about. What devices restrict polls from working?
Chrome books or any computer that is running an old version or joining from a browser. I also am not sure that it is supported on mobile devices.
