Groundnut/peanut-based soups and stews are very common across West Africa. This video is one of the many ways you can make groundnut soup in Ghana. Let me know if you want to see a northern version of the soup. Kwame Nkrumah was interested not only in Ghanaian independence, but in the liberation of all Africans. Aiming for anything less is how we have the Africa and the world we have today...
I think this is the third website I've seen this trip on, and I'm not mad at it! I've learnt so much
I believe wrewre is sunflower seeds?🇵🇬
Sorry to miss it. I'll actually be going to Ghana for the first time a few weeks later. I hope we both have a safe and happy experience. 😊
Coleslaw and Jollof is a QUEENLY meal 🎉🎉🎉🎉 So delicious with ripe fried plantain ❤❤❤❤
This is how to live. I definitely miss living in Ghana and Togo
Do you recommend it for toddlers
Wow it looks delicious watching it
What is Tofu?
Hi, I am a nutrition researcher who conducted her research in Ghana (Asesewa), and I would like to thank you for sharing this as it helped me in getting familiar with the food culture in Ghana.
What is the second dish called ?
Only Africans eat African food 🤮
Omg it look so easy of course mine wasn’t so easy I’ll try it again 😂 thanks for sharing
Are these really plant based?
yes 10000% percent
I loved that last tip of "looking inward to your culture". It has really inspired me to look further into my own and learn more about our (South Indian) traditional grains and ways of cooking. More millets for me too! :-)
Thank God for this page I am ready to try
Just watching this gave me diarrhea 😂
This is amazing!
Mine broke apart in the oil. It hurts because i know i did everything right
That happened to me too; the key is to follow the three step drenching process - flour first, milk, then breadcrumbs. The flour will protect it from falling apart
@eatwithafia okay. I used only flour but it broke apart.
Love this!!!! What an incredible experience you’ve made🥹🥹
It is also in🇰🇪 Kenya ,but your's looks good
I want to go vegan..but iron n B12 is a thing fr me..n I'm tryna heal my gut
So basically where I found myself before I went vegan. I was able to address all of this on a fully plant based diet and continue to do so
OMG, thank you you for a recipe that I can use without having to find the flour somewhere. All these stores only sell coconut fufu and I don’t even understand what that is taste wise.😂 I cannot wait to try this!!! Thank you!!
Awesome I've been researching my Gullah Geechee heritage and plant based diet
Exactly , becareful of tyfoid and food poisoning.
the food making me hungry!!1
the dish is not Gambian it's Senegalese. Correct the title this is offensive.
The title adds the Gambian name too “benachin”. Malians also make jollof this way too. I did a lot of research before publishing the video and noticed that there wasn’t a major difference between Gambian benachin and Senegalese thiebouddiene; in the end, it’s colonial borders that separate the two countries.
If you find this dish offensive then please kindly comment on the 100s of videos on CZcams that say thieboudienne and benachin in the same title 😁
@@eatwithafia I'm not not talking about colonization. I'm talking about the dish which a Senegalese dish. I'm Senegalese, the dish originated in Senegal. Why can't you take as it is? You did a lot of research but I should know better than your researches.
@@eatwithafia yes but I start with you first. Stop calling our dish another name than what it is, It's Senegalese.
@@marni12196 Grow up
I have to experience this!
How do I find out more about the trip?
Looks like tha soup also had okra in it ?
Hello, what do you use for the "beef stripes"(tripe) in the last soup? I've missed having a really good comparable soup. Also everything in this video looks so good! You helped me decide which Nigerian food to cook next!
i got the "beef tripe" from T&T in Toronto, which is a big asian supermarket.
Love your pg thank you soooo much been looking for more natural recipes like these 💕💕💕
I love your sauce but can't say much about the soup...i guess it's individual differences...cos from my point of view soup was way too watery
Well I am the one eating it 😂😂
@@eatwithafiaOf course 😊
So egg is plants too sneaky humans
Kojac tripe 😅 I’ve heard it all 😊
Im called abena too i came from ghana
Locust beans is epic
Wow!
They are healthy drinks, but some are too strong.
First time of seeing the fruit. They must have been doing this manual process since ancestors days. They should just contract Chinese to manufacture the machine that will do the whole process for them in few minutes . These Chinese people eh, they are too much
Soy eate you from inside
Damn you should have had Tigernut Milk with Ginger
Many’s différents naturels origin organic drinke
Afia you have really done well but I wish your recording could be more stable next time
My stomach is bubbling by just watching. I have a weak ahh stomach
I didn't have any of those drinks, but still had diarrhea for the entire time. God bless immodium.
We call it iru
Cameroon pepper? You mean Pendja pepper?
no i mean cameroon pepper. Its popular in nigerian cooking. I have penja pepper too and it is very different
"... plague of Maggi cube" A woman of culture.🥂
If the preparation of the beverages are sanitary anyone should be able to drink them are you then suggesting that they may be on sanitary conditions because why can't any and everybody drink these beverages
It’s not about sanitary but what people are accustomed to. For example, the water that runs through our pipes are clean and treated but not quite to the standard of what westerners are used to. Our environment is very different with people accustomed to the microbes and everyday bacteria in our part of the world. People who haven’t lived in Ghana or west Africa might not be accustomed to the different environment so are asked to take precaution; their digestion is simply not strong enough to even handle the harmless bacteria 😂
