Is Harbor Freight worth it?
I have bought a few things over the past year and a half at Harbor Freight, just about all of which I regret. Don't get all wound up if this is your favorite store, these are my experiences.

DIY window tint

DIY Window Tint I finally tried tinting windows myself, and was pleasantly surprised. It really wasn't too bad. In this video I cover some differences in film quality and availability. I also go over some tips that I found useful. This is not a how to video as there are other videos out there better suited for that.
Fill your oil filter
zhlédnutí 47Před 3 lety
Whenever I do an oil change I always fill the new oil filter with oil before installing it. This is not necessary however it keeps that 1/2 quart or so of air from running through your engine while it is filling the filter. It can only help.
Shocker Hitch

This does a decent job of improving trailer bucking from a heavy trailer. It does not stop it, but it certainly helps. Amazon affiliate link - amzn.to/3w5BX77

Milwaukee Metal Cutting Circular Saw

Milwaukee 8" corded metal cutting circular saw. I have only made a few cuts with this so far, but I am very pleased with it already! Nice clean cuts, very little burr, and cool immediately after the cut. I wish I had pulled the trigger on this a while ago. Amazon affiliate link to this tool - amzn.to/3cw1or0

Ariat Workhog 6 month review

Ariat Workhog Pull On Boots Ive had these for 6 months now and really like them. Overall they seem to be wearing fine. The only issue I have found is the sole gets hard and a little slick in the winter.

Log Splitter I built this log splitter myself in my garage. It is not yet finished, and that was by design to work out the bugs. I ended up bending the push block in these videos I will be fixing that.

How did it work? I have the same issue on my wife's 2013
Thank you for this video, I thought buying USA-made (and I'm LOCAL to their location) would be the way to go, but obviously it's not).
Anyone interested they sell refill kits for around 5 bucks online it includes six refills and they also have the red writer version refills for this also the package is got tractor supply had the pen and 7 refills for 14
Any update on how it held up?
I got the same ones but I’m on the heavier side so I go through the sole crazy but Damm u can walk in a puddle like nothing and everybody stares at u and water doesn’t go through lol and their nice I oil them every month I like having my boots look fresh every week I clean them and every month I oil them 240$ my highest I have ever payed for any type of shoe but this is a work boot. Used to go through 40$ work shoes from Ross every month till a coworker noticed me with new pairs every month lol and then he recommend me Ariats and Damm u save so much money on the long run
You sound Canadian
What's that all aBOOT
There belts are awesome
i agree with your findings. i think these devices are better for fluid exchange jobs and not for bleeding brakes
Thank you for this review, I was just about to pull the trigger on this company's hoist. Now I'm back to square one
The ONLY belt brand I wear anymore for carry or not carry days which are rare folks.
I have had a 10,000 pound Worth 2 post lift since 2016. I use the heck out of it. I DID have issues with a longer lead time than promised. I had some paint damage during shipping and had a problem with one part. I have always said that there will always be problems. What you do about it is what counts. They sent me a can of paint and replacement parts very promptly. I had another friend who bought one that also had shipping damage. They also corrected the problem quickly. It is nearly 8 years that I have had the lift and have had no issues with it since the initial shipping issues. I feel that this is a lift with a wider base and heavier steel than most if not all of the Chinese made lifts on the market today. I DID have to shim my base plate because there is NO such thing as a level floor. I have no idea if my base plate was flat because you are going to have to shim it no matter what. Overall, I have been very happy with the quality of the lift that I purchased from Worth.
These guys do actually make the best rathcet belts for guys and ratchet belts imho are way better than belts holes or veclro belts in how they fit.
Thanks for the detailed video, i was looking for basically the same lift. Think I'll pass on this manufacturer. Sorry you had to keep it. Again thanks.
Learn what to buy there. Some things are great. Others are crap.
The worst part about it 90% of everything is Chinese now!
As there are Safety Concerns, can complaints be sent to anyone other than the Better Business Bureau?
I wished that I had watched this before purchasing my worth cf 10,000 lift. I purchased mine in April 2023. Scratched up like yours. When I picked my up from the wear house they shipped to in Spokane, it was the hottest day of the year over 100 deg. F. I felt rushed to inventory everything, and check for damage. Scratched like you said. And I questioned Steve the salesman / owner. He never replied back. I then knew “ I’m screwed” but he later told me to send him a picture of it set up and he will hav Sherwood Williams send me the custom color paint touch up.. later I started looking at that small aircraft cable and how it was to be installed. What a horrible idea, and the hoses are they just thrown over and zip tied to the cross beam. You got a better deal than I did. I payed over five grand. I’m not impressed. And they printed on paper some of the motor specs not including the horse power. I believe that I will be putting in a complaint to BBB. I wished that I would have gone to Bendpak or other Chinese company for better quality. Their Quality Assurance team isn’t as it should be, that’s for sure
So how they did about the motor horsepower was to place a paper data sheet not mentioning the horsepower. I wish I would have seen this before I purchased mine.
Did you return it? Were you able to get a full refund?
Worth would would not accept that anything was wrong with the lift. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. I never installed it, I disclosed all the issues and sold it for a fraction of what I paid.
Sorry are you serious I friggin love my kore leather belt. Mines over the year mark and its held up great. Do you know anything about leather?
Buffalo leather? Is it worth the money? I’m debating getting one
They have USA Made belts, I know cause I just got it in the mail and really nice. Totally exceeded my expectations.
Soapstone marking works on almost all types of metals 👍
I got the western belt last year and its fantastic!! Super well made. A company rep told me they upgraded them about a year ago. Now I want a black one.
Thank you....long term hows yur lift?
My ariat boots are nice but its made in Asia. Strange Ariat dont make American made?
Fast forward to 2023 im in desperate need of new boots and i want to try the weatern style do you still recommend these and should i get steel toe or get composite toe if they have?
Sorry for the late reply. I would not still recommend these now. They have held up pretty well, however the one thing that really bugs me is the sole is hard and they are like ice skates in the winter. I also believe at the current price point there are some better US made options out there. Look at Thorogood boots.
Thank you for not going 5 minutes in-depth on their ratcheting system; like every other company out there doesn't use the same, decades-old system.
Right, I’ve had a ratcheting belt from Walmart for at least 10 years
I bought one as well and love the thing. Many things he said were true of mine too. Yes, they miss dates and ship poorly. The motor torque rating is marketing hogwash. Customer service is not a strong suit. However, the lift is built like a tank overall. The base plates and uprights are wider, thicker and heavier than others. Compare the shipping weight of a worth. When I did they were 30- 50 percent heavier. 1500 compared to 1000. More material, bigger uprights, just better built than anything except a Mohawk from what I can tell. Mine has functioned flawlessly for 15 years. I've lifted up my excursion and f250 extended cab, 8k lb. They move up and down plenty fast even with the heaviest loads, so the motor being under 3 hp is not a problem. When I buy a four post, will be a worth. They are simple and tough, and nothing in this review changed my mind. Yes they could do better. However, hopefully he will install his and change his mind like I did. I complained and they sent me new decals and touch up paint, so maybe that will help.
You lie, company schill?
The Canuck is strong with this one. Looking for a marker to index stuff on engine teardowns.
i appreciate this
You get 2-3 years
Don't use a sharpie on non ferrous metals, they contaminate the metals and can rust and cause a weak point. Weld techs will bitch.
Had a pair of round toe workhogs for 5-6 years. Best pair of work boots I ever had. Used to have to run up about 8 stairs carrying 40-60 pound fiberglass parts for Kenworth truck roofs. They really took the abuse. That and I'm a Auto mechanic by trade. About ready to buy another pair!
I have a leather gun belt from them. It's been great. But After about 1 year and a few months the leather came totally ripped apart on the seams. I guess that is common but even after warranty they offered me a discount when buying a replacement belt which they didn't have to do. So great customer service. If it cost over a hundred dollars I'd be disappointed but on the other hand they could use better leather even for the price.
What brand insole did you say you replaced the Ariat insole with? Always looking for a better replacement boot insole.
How did the belt hold up for you ?
I've been doing a lot of lift research and definitely wouldn't buy one of those shitty things , the Chinese ones look way better. Those truck adapters are a joke and unlike any others. Thanks for the great info , I guess American made wasn't a good thing here
There great best belts to me ever
What are the best blades you have found ? Thanks
It is nice using 18” length 3/8” chain extensions . They have G-70 grab hooks with different ends . A 3” delta ring for flat hooks and a pear shaped ring for wire hooks . A drop in stake pocket with a 2” webb winch works well . Very informative and honest video . 10/22
Great work, really enjoyed every bit of your video. Keep it up
best belt i ever had so far
So would you recommend it, thickest I usually cut is 1/2" also what's the life on the blade.?
Mac my western kore leather strap is well over 2 years old now and looks great minus some scuffs which this type of leather is prone to. Its obvious that its real leather and quality is pretty damn solid imo. It looks way better than your belt that honestly looks like crap. And my kore buckle still works great. btw it aint steel its obviously an alloy. Those cam lock buckles slip and need to be adjusted all day. Pain in the ass. My 2 cents.
Very helpful information. 👍
These are top grain leather which is not full grain. With that said these are well made and designed for carrying.
Mac I have that same leather belt in black from kore with their star buckle that is about a year old. It has held up great so far and I love the adjustment. Sorry but WOW your old belt looks TERRIBLE. You wear that? I would be embarrased to leave the house. I doubt goodwill would take that.
I’ve never seen/heard that Core essentials belts were low quality. I have many of them and they’re by far the best edc belts for me.
How well does it work on rusted metal? I work in a shop that has always used flat bar type soap stone but I'm looking to try something I can see better through my burning shield and welding hood. Nice video, to the point!
The dirtiest the metal is the better it works
Thanks for this info!
