WISY rainwater filter in action!

It started raining, so I caught the WISY filter in action, and added some details I forgot to mention. (CZcams won't merge videos anymore, so this is separate. See the main video here: czcams.com/video/ewTVebyVjSU/video.html)
Rainwater system walk-around

Here's a quick tour of our rainwater collection system, showing the gutters, pre-filter, bulk storage tanks, and 12v RV water pump. One thing I did not show in the video, is the battery and charger. The water pump runs off a deep cycle 12v battery, which is constantly charged from 110v with a standard automotive type battery charger. This means we still have running water in case of a power out...

Hacking a Harbor Freight quick charger for Drillmaster batteries
zhlédnutí 9KPřed 7 lety
Here's a modification I made to allow Drillmaster batteries to quick charge. Harbor Freight doesn't sell a quick charger for these low-priced tools, only for their more expensive Chicago Electric line, which also uses 18v NiCad batteries, but the battery terminals are not compatible. My solution was to gut the slow charger and wire it to the terminals of the fast charger. This worked... however...

Thank you for post this!!!!! what about the opposite of this? I'm trying to build an all custom solar powered 12v geothermal heat exchanger air conditioner for a 100sqf shack in mid Florida. Something with a custom diaphragm pump that pushes hot air from the roof, through a water tank 8' under the shed and back up through the floor of the shack. In the summer our ground temp is about 72F, but that shack will be much hotter even though under the trees. To power it, a 200 watt 12v solar panel. One thing I can't wrap my head around is direction and gravity of the seal at rest and when pressurized.

Thanks man this is exactly what I was looking for. I am adding a four inch line under my basement for airflow/ventilation and do not want it flowing back into my laundry room. I couldn't use the more sophisticated check valves because dryer lint would probably clog it frequently. Im going to cut the inside pipe at an angle, add a small layer of silicone to the large one for the seal, have a spring with just enough tension to keep it in place/reduce noise, and see if my dryer can still vent.

The thing about tranny jacks is that they dont have a 10 foot handle and they are not 6 feet long, thats why they are so convenient specially while marrying engine and tranny, i guess under a tall truck and putting a tranny in and not a motor this would work great!

This is not how chargers work. You need higher amperage to have faster charging. Soldering pins together isn’t going to change the amperage on the charging block

When I hook the ryobi charger to the battery (I soldered wires to the charging terminals) the "fully charged" light comes on and that's it. Any way to make this work so it charges my battery?

We use it for everything. Showers, laundry, dishes, toilet, and filtered for drinking. How long it lasts is extremely variable.... we can make it last for a couple of months if needed. It rains here far more than that. See the main video for more info.
