Why not just build up the broken section with weld and machine it afterwards?

What is the purpose of internal and external threads if you are welding it? Why not just a really nice bevel on each side and then weld it 100%.

It would be faster, cheaper and safer to drill the back of the housing out to the size of the spindle. Then make a new, from scratch, axle with a backend larger than the housing, then do a shrink fit putting the new spindle in through the back of the housing.

Залипательное видео.сначала замер микрометром а дальше доведение размера болгаркой на глазок. При этом нет никакой центрации с посадочным местом под опорный диск-видно биение и радиалтное и осевое в плоскости установки опорника. Эту деталь осталось покрасить и выбросить.

If the tool was held in the other side of the tool post , the tool could finish the cut , and not hit the chuck . This is only basic lathe work . Some thing a 15 year old can do .

Best part of that repair is the hose clamps. Plug welding forged steel just wont work well.

i like when the guy searches the junkpile to find the perfect driveshaft mending farfegnugen bolts. That driveshaft is softer than a disneyland pretzel with no salt.

i don't have the time or crayons to point out how bad of a "repair" than was, it hurts to see that is considered a "Sensible Mechanic" and "Excel repair with dynamic technique". maybe and i mean maybe that works for a short amount of time if you absolutly limp that poor machine to a shop to get proper or at least better repaired parts installed but id give it 20% load capacity at best.

I wish we could know how much durability and strength loss happen compare to the original part.

And these camshaft is ready to be thrown into the garbage. Few lobs are worn, now part is overheated. And 0.05 mm of being not straight makes it a piece of scrap.

Yet another "Click-Bait" FAUX repair. at 1.40 you can clearly see that this Camshaft was deliberately cut with a disc cutter then snapped. Everything after that is just another of their usual fake and bodged "repairs". This cam shaft will never be fitted to any engine given it is no longer straight and thus will not fit into its bearings.

If the supposed camshaft had broken in use, as in engine running, there would of been a lot of valves bent, as there are not many engines around with that type of clearance

At least 6 of the cam lobes that I saw had dents and heavy wear on them. There is no phasing of the cam lobes to get the correct opening and closing degree. Plus, the journal next to the repair is blue from heat, which will make it wear rapidly. A piece of junk mocked up as a repair to gain clicks. In short, clickbait.

had enough weld penetration to hold , there was a lot of weldingspatter on the camlobes though and im not sure if the pieces are clocked correctly and if it is straight enough to not wipe out the cambearings

i dont see how that was manufacturing clutch plates it was resurfacing them and they were not running true on the lathe you can tell because the sparks were not consent and i suppose it is good because of the thumbs up after each one was done

my dad used to weld everything with an old stick welder, even cut heavy steel. we can all be impressed superficially. you see how that wheel broke? obviously a springy, brittle material. welding materials like this takes a lot out of the integrity of the original purpose of using materials like this. at the very least a sleeve should have been installed, this will break again. its a band aid with a bow tied on it. reminds me of a body job i did on my old jeep, i used flex tape to cover rust holes and painted over it. its still on 3 years later. repairs like this should be for off road use only.

every time i watch these types of videos i'm reminded why some countries can put a rover on Mars and some are still pulling a wooden cart with a Donkey in 21st century .
