Fix Sump Pump Float Switch Problem
Simple six for a malfunctioned sump pump float switch. Excuse the language at 2:47: "something", not "someone" - impromptu video and no script. Hope it saves someone some trouble like another video did for me.

Thanks so much for this. We had sever stoems and flooding recently. My sump lump kept up, but it got stuck in the on position. It stayed thst way for two days and a simple nudge fixed my issue. Appreciate you.

Thank you!!! My basement flooded during the night. The pump worked fine once I "jiggled" it, and it sucked out the 2 inches of water in about 10 minutes, but it hadn't turned on when it should have. Turned out that a piece of plastic had become stuck in the float. I wouldn't have even known where to look if I hadn't found this video!!!
Put gravel on the very bottom of your pit.. then put the pump on a paver! The float switch activates by water level! Not by pressure of the drain!

You should try to clean the sediment out of the bottom of your sump pit. The pump could pick it up and get damaged
