SMcW did you ever realize that an accented five thing on the right hand is the same as the left but since reid maxwell never figured out how to play it now you play it all fucked too. Now everyone plays it like that and you don't even have to play it AT ALL. sorry to sound like a dick but it's just so annoying buzz uckata chop a zuckita chop a tick a tallywacawhool sound familiiar it's an accented 5 just like on the right hand. Wow rant over btw way you have the coolest corps now and yeah awesome see you probably never again lol
Very nice for any beginner
Outstanding...rivals the great man himself
As I listen to your piper's rendition of Cam I'm always amazed at how many versions of any given tune there are. BTW: Nice tappita tappita...
Wow you are good.
Excellent score one of my favorites. Agree with other comment about third part bars one and two are the trickiest in the whole piece. Very easy to either fumble up the figures completely or rush through that part too fast and be a bit ahead going into the third measure. A challenging piece but fun to play.
Very nice
Thanks, always good to hear these sounds.
Hey any chance u could send ne the beatings for this ...... honestly beeen trying to learn it by ear for a good while ..... good percentsge if the views are me....
The best pipe band drum score ever composed, in my opinion.
you 2 real fkin weird
As I sit here in my home in the US, it’s hard for me to believe I have the ability to watch arguably the best pipe band drummer in the world do warm up and technique videos. From an older guy trying to dust off the chops and learn pipe band drumming, I sincerely thank you.
The second pad is a Loul Drum ? 😅
Thank you mr mcwhirter
Could you share the sheet music? Cheers!
Interesting change from the usual 4-4 massed band snare beating usually used for this tune.
Thanks Steven!
Modern pipe bands suck. Get the ladies out of there. Long gone are the massive skills days/projecting Brave Heart strong Scotsmen pipe bands like Strathclyde, Edinburgh Police, Muirhead, Dysart, Shotts Duthart. Modern pipe bands are Woke and wimpy. The Scots went Woke. Awful.
Excellent as always

So musical, he put the words to the song, We wish him well and his Family!
Fantastic sound! Shame that whoever held the microphone had to walk around instead of staying in place.
Lovely music score!
smacked your sticks together at 0:39. fail
Any chance of the sheet music for this mate?
Leider habt ihr die Scores vom Alex (Cameronian Rant) so misshandelt das nichts schönes mehr dabei raus gekommen ist, und ich liebe das Cameronian Rant so sehr
That is clearly not an arrangement of Duthart's Rant. If you have played Duthart's score for years and heard it constantly played year after year in the solo's then you would know how difficult it is to break away from it and write your own one. Alex's score is a classic masterpiece for its time but in this day and age can be very repetitive in parts, still beautiful but. I'm nothing to do with Inveraray and don't know Steven but I think he has done a good job with it. Just my opinion.👍
Can we get the score?
Very nice as usual from Mr. McWhirter..particularly at 1:33 in the video excellent control of those single strokes on each hand.
Hey mate, it looks like there has been a slight mixup on the titles to the breakdown videos of Donald MacLean’s Farewell to Oban. Your work is amazing and I love it!
Love these old Duthart scores!
You know it's a good score when you don't even have to hum the tune and still hear it in the drumming.
Nice!!
That was amazing
Lovely. Learning this on the pipes at the mo so need to bring my drumming up to scratch on this too!! Thanks for recording this great and lively setting!
Such clear teaching. Remember learning this in the boiler house under the prep school at Dollar with Bob Gray who taught us drumming inthe 70s/80s. They're very lucky to have you now! Can't believe this channel has under 1k subscribers!
Incredible as usual. Great Stuff. From Ireland 🇮🇪👍
Lovely hand to hand rolls and buzz rolls! Love this!
Great stuff. Big update! Can you contrast with the original and discuss the changes? Be really interesting to hear you discuss the ideas and changes made. Drummed at Dollar in the 80s and Duthart was very much the thing. Still have an original pair of Duthart sticks too. Can’t find those any more!
Great setting!
Super helpful. Thank you!
Good
Fab sound destined for big things again. Keep her lit Inveraray.
What i would give to play like that ! Fantastic playing
Fantástico, que bien suena. Feliz año nuevo.

Man i want to be that good im 33 think its to late for me
Well considering you just watched a multiple-time world champion, you’ll probably never be *that* good
You can learn from the man himself. Steven does Skype lessons.
He is a great teacher and the few lessons I took with him made a big difference in my playing.
Met him last summer for a weeks lessons in Regina, Canada. Great player, good sense of humour. Started drumming at 9 learning all the wrong ways to play re technique. Professional lessons began at 50. It's never too late, I'm 56 now and I've never played better.
How do you make it look so effortless?? I know an answer is time and plenty practice.. I’ve known drummers that have had years of practice but still can’t make rolls as smooth as that..
This is a very helpful video
Beauty!
Such an awesome teacher.
The high hand on the PC is sharp... He needs to back the reed out a bit, and lay off the vibrato... The drumming is good, I guess, but who cares about drummers? "Tappity-tap-tap-tap", all day long, not a thought in their brains... (Just kidding; this is an awesome setting of Minch 👍)
