Build you a triple prong gig out 3 inch carriage bolts, that's what I use and they don't come off guaranteed.
Caught my PB red grouper on a cigar minnow. It was 26 pounds and 34.5 inches. It fought so hard and I almost cried when I caught it.

South Alabama
Just south of marsh Island in Louisiana, my son and I saw 10 to 12 acres of redfish. They were Giants, they were running before a storm. We only caught one! Then we had to run. The one we caught was about 25 pounds.

@@Rolin_Fishingman we gig a lot here in south Mississippi where I live, wading the beach and outta the boat , I seldom have luck in the bottom like you was gigging in for some reason we got a lot of sand bars here in Mississippi, 12” long and 10 per person, seems like our average is 12-15”

I caught one swimming along the shoreline. My friends and I were clam digging and i was carrying the shovel...we called it a shovel fish😂 Another group of friends on the same weekend caught a 17ft swordfish with their bare hands that had beached itself in shallow water
