Chinese Diesel Heaters... How good are they?
I recently took the plunge and bought myself a 5Kw Chinese diesel heater. There are dozens of installation videos out there but on a cold day in the UK in an average draughty garage what difference do they really make out of the box?

This is a complilation of the 2 videos demonstrating the fault with my 2003 e46 318i. Turned out to be a worn camchain tensioner causing chain slap and faulty vanos solenoids causing power loss. I have the same issue, mostly it gets worse in cold winter weather, or when I dont drive a lot or when I fill my oil up to the top of dip stick. Often after long drive it gets better. I lose a lot of oil. When I start I get a short duration of white smoke. But when it gets really bad, I check the spark plugs, they are wet with oil. When I clean the oil off, its okay for a while and start misfire again and irregular idle, some times it jerk as I drive. Today I bought a new CCV Valve kit, 5W30 fully synthetic oil. new oil filter, new air filter, new air intake gaskets and go drop it of at my mechanic and asked him to replace it all, and drain all the old oil. My reasoning is the CCV valve is outside the engine and can be sensitive to ambient temperature, components in the engine all run at high temp regardless. if the CCV do not separate oil from vapors correctly it can suck oil in via the air intake. CCV has a life cycle and must be replaced when it gets old anyway. My mechanic agree that this may be the cause. So now I will wait and see by tomorrow if the issue is solved. If not, then valve-stem seals and piston rings was also mentioned, but I tend to believe if its those things, the engine will have the problem all the time. But I rather replace a few routine parts that can relate to the problem first, before I go all in an have the engine pulled and opened as it can be a big waste of money to open the engine and later discover its a simple valve under the air intake manifold.

I had the same problem. The chain was replaced by my engine 40k before, so I cleaned vanos valves and replaced the sensors and ccv valve (lot of work)... It brought much smoother run of my engine...

I think around 25mph with the current gearing which is more than enough for lots of torque and sideways action!
How do you set the pvc on the wheels ?
Fully deflate the tyres once they are seated on the beads and slide on the sleeves with some soapy water, then re-inflate :D

The purple driver and red one are not equivalent. Purple plugs in 180" out to the red. If you try to use the firmware must change .

When I bought the car the eccentric shaft sensor wasn't connected... the motor was OK... When I plugged it (I saw it wasn't when I did an inspection II), the motor was bad. Eccentric shaft ? Solenoid valve ? Chain tensioner ? On Rheingold I have misfire on two cylinders. Thank you for your help.

Hi guys! I have the same issue with my 318it Compact, N42. When i first start the engine everything is fine, as soon it warms up the idle RPM drops down to 600 - 500 and the engine starts acting weird. Sometimes it dies when i set it on D or R and is difficult in traffic. I cleaned the Throttle valve, i checked the hoses for air leaks, i checked the MAF and seems to be fine, the problem is still there. The car drives really good otherwise. Any other clues? I noticed that when i disconnect the MAF and start the engine, a light comes up in the dash, is a sign representing a gear wheel with an exclamation mark in the middle. After reconnecting the MAF it dissapears. Thank you!
Well i managed to solve the issue. Turned out that 3 of coils were miss firing like hell. Since i'm not a pro it took a while to troubleshoot the whole thing. I changed all 4 coils (the cost in Cyprus was about 240âŹ) and everything was perfect ever since. No bad idle!
@@emanuelrupa5440 did not get error code? I have the same issue, my car got new ccv new timings new maf new fuel pump new spark plug updated engine control, and still have rough idle.. with no error code.. thanks for help!
@@balintmorvai8004 Check the SOLENOID connectors! Mine were reversed at some point. I noticed after a while... I put them the right way and everything was perfect.

@@balintmorvai8004 Do it without any stres, you can just disconnect one, intake or exhaust with the engine off. The rough idle should stop. If everything works fine with one solenoid disconnected then just reverse them. I can't post a photo here... but check on google. You should see the right way to connect them.

I have the CTC Prusa i3 Clone, with the red controller board. Same frame and leadscrews as the one you have. I have attempted to upgrade the leadscrews to the t8. So far I have not gotten it to work correctly so I am back at the original leadscrews. Is there a firmware upgrade required in order to get these t8 leadscrews to work with these clones?

This engine a lot of oil leak problems, when they run low oil,worn very quick.
i changed the original chain in 275 xxx km, it has bad noises,also had to change the vanos both side! ATM Running perfeclty

It's so easy to work on.
I have the same engine , well personally i changed both chains and every engine failure was solved. After a while started to make weird noise. Analysed with computer and showed up vanos intake error. I think goona drive some more 50k km and gonna swap the engine to m54.
Impressive! The chains seem to need attention after 80-90k. Mine knocks after a long drive so I assumed it was heat related. I'm ready to give my cooling system an overhaul because the coolant sprayed out of the expansion tank and took out the control chip for the fan and god knows what else... Maybe it is a badly designed engine...
Is that expansion tank made to spray out coolant? Cause i have the exact same thing!

15 mph is a speed that you would expect from a 5 or 6 hp. With two persons in the boat a 10 hp should get you to 18 mph minimum. You were alone, means you should be going a lot faster. What pitch is your propeller? Engine doesn't sound like it gets to full rpm
I donât think so. I have a Chrysler 15 hp that gets me on my inflatable 10.8 ft boat and 14 ft aluminum 19 mph by myself. Add another person and itâs 17-18. 3 people would be 14-15. 15 mph for a 10 horse on an inflatable with 2 people is good. A 5 and 6 hp motor would not be powerful enough to go 15 unless on a tiny kayak or such.

how did you run the throttle cable?
vacume pump 99% sure if you want to check it your self just remove the vacume line from servo that leads to vacume pump once you take it out sound should stop that means vacum pump needs replaced but as long as it doesnt leak cant see any reason of changing it the cost are 150-220âŹ

@xsamp86 is it a twist throttle and if it it is how is it connected because it looks like it's not connected.
@xsamp86 what kind of engine are you using and would a pressure washer motor work as well?
