We have talked about how to configure your classes and subclasses. This explains the rules of the road for assigning class/subclass to individual expenses and revenue transactions.

You may not be able to bill the grant for hours worked but you want to track the hours worked so you know how much effort you put into it. (Hours are dollars)

We use projects to track grant or contract activity. This is a way of entering the hours and then invoicing the customer or grantor for the value of the hours worked.
