    "to erase that I turn the switch on then off"? What switch? also the service manual says to disconnect the fuel pump wire harness. I think there is a test that requires pressing the starter, so disconnecting will not pump gas to the injectors.

      I've just been messing with this myself - had my first overheat in 12 years yesterday (2008) and my fan nor light never came on - used to run all the time, especially on trails and have seen the light once or twice. Using a potentiometer, I'd set it until the fan came on, then go into diag. and see what temp it was reading. It seems the fan comes on around 222F and the temp light around 242F. Running at idle, smelling the coolant getting hot, I read 185F max, so I think my coolant temp sensor is to blame. I"ll pull it this weekend and test it in some boiling water, but I'm going to have the spare on hand anyway.

      @@michalaugustyniak6449 Sorry man, I forgot about this comment because I didn't know the answer at the time. Yes, the coolant will come out when you pull the sensor. Got my bike happily blowing hot air on my leg at lights again. Good luck!

  • @mohammadshahrilbinbakar8319

    Greetings Len Couch. From this information, I should be able to log it to the digital pins of Arduino (5V) by adding a high ohm resistor, a zener diode (to limit (+) voltage to 5V max) and a normal diode (to remove the (-) voltage). Am I right? Based on the electrical diagram, it is the Blue(+) and Green(-) wires. I have a basic knowledge on electrical engineering. Can you advise what resistors, diodes and wiring diagram please? The signal circuit has to be of high impedance so as not to change the pickup signal. Am I right? I'd like to log this information to determine RPM and TDC/BTDC. Thank you.

    • @lenarama1066
      @lenarama1066 Před 4 lety

      I am not familiar with Arduino inputs. You mention "digital pins". The DRZ signals are all analog, and would require an Analog to Digital converter between the signal from the bike and the Arduino if it does not accept analog signals directly. As far as your idea about using the zener to reduce voltage, it may decrease the signal to noise ratio of the circuit because of RFI noise near the signal floor. A simple L-Pad design should work better, Link here:www.electronics-tutorials.ws/attenuators/l-pad-attenuator.html

      The screen capture from 0:39 to the end is at a 1 volt per division scale. Therefore the base waveform is showing between 2.0 and 2.5 volts PEAK-TO-PEAK, and the trigger pulse shows about 5 volts. I don't know how a voltmeter would interpret the voltage since it is a complex waveform.
