I had one in Gresham, OR tear the sidewall of a tire that got a nail in it (Was a brand new car and only been to the dealership for an oil change/maintenance) Then the tech that worked on it said it was my problem and I would have to buy a new tire. After the manager finally agreed to “do the right thing” I came in and saw him waving the guy to the back quickly and lied and said he sent the guy home. I gave them another chance in Sandy, OR and they charged me $1000 plus to change 2 front struts on a Ford Escort. The struts were crap parts and groaned and moaned immediately, they couldn’t even bother to put my wheel covers back on(left on passenger floor board) and the lugs were so over tightened I needed a 10 ft bar to break loose. Have not given them any more business since.

My ranger xlt ,had a concealed leak,previous owner. Had dye test done ,showed nothing fractured, it ended up being a defective timing chain cover,it had a finger nail sized hole in the gasket area,,sitting right beside the top bolt ,it'd get hot ,steam out the hole,drying on the hot engine, before a puddle could form,from the leak,they checked everything but that timing chain cover,I had to purchase a new cover,275.00 dollars, ouch

Dude just made a hot air intake. Removing the baffle that reduces noise from incoming, turbulent air is good, but keep the "rubber thingy." All that heat soak in the engine bay just raised the intake charge Temps. No.

Hey man I have an 07 ranger xlt 3 liter v6 my mechanic made a mistake with bolt sizes do you know the length of the bolts for the cover.

I have a 2017 ssr 125 , tore engine down , all gears looks good . Bike wouldn’t go into any gear . Would you think the shift drum could be the issue ?

Great job Clay. Add this to the Les Schwab gouge and way. First, I appreciate my local Les Schwab shops, they have doen me right for most of many years for brake work and suspension work. I bought my son an 09 Mazda 5 one year ago, I immediately brought it in for the BS check. The car was very noisy and loose up front, and was unsafe. I was told it needed front control arms and sway bar bushing, and an alignment of course. Got the car back, was better but wheel wasn't centered. Took it back, a bit better. Some 6 months later began hearing horrible squeal from the brakes when in reverse, squeal and grind. Took it back they told me it is the "lack of quality" in the parts, pads aren't the best, rotors are rusty. I noticed rust on the rotors the first day of install. Anyway, they took it back, and within one year turned my new rotors, all new brakes, rotors, calipers, pins, pads, shims, etc. The suspension has been acting up very noisy, took it in, they said "loose front strut bolts on weak aftermarket struts". I got a quote for 2 front KYB Strut Plus assemblies, w install for just over $1100. I was shocked as the parts cost me $135 at Parts Geek, Les Schwab wants $345 per assembly, thus I am fuming with them now. I've brought them well over $10k in business in the last few years. I think they may be a "parts cannon"s scam operation as they never seem to have the staffing and talented, experience mechanics to work on cars. I recommend Les Schwab, but now with much more diligence and research, they tried to scam me for over $500 for this strut replacement, buyer beware.

How does letting the RTV dry a bit work out with the clearance on the paper gasket? Isn't it going to gap more than the gasket spec? I have tubes of Ford black RTV, but my problem is taking off that Oil Pan it appears since the bottom of it goes right up against the timing cover. Some say this doesn't need to be done if you are careful not to tear the gasket that's in place. Any input would be appreciated.

What is the specific method of getting then plugs off the coils? Where do i push and in what direction? Theyre made of very thin plastic for some reason and just pulling does nothing.
