In November 1991, Vision Technology Group Ltd, led by Jan Murray, opened the first PC World shop in Purley Way, Croydon. In February 1993, when Dixons Group plc (now Dixons Carphone) purchased the chain, there were four PC World shops in existence. There followed a period of expansion, as more shops were opened across the country. All of its physical shops in the United Kingdom now trade under ...

The name was changed to Worthington's in 2002 and shield became more o...
Scotch VHS Advert

The Scotch skeleton TV ads were launched in 1983 . The skeleton didn't sing in the original ad - he fell off his chair instead! The 1983 ad was set in the year 2021, and the premise was that a Scotch video tape bought in 1983 was still perfectly usable for re-recording in the 21st Century!

Kelloggs Fruit n Fibre Advert 89 Ross Kemp
Aside from the documentary and everything said about cars, I was amazed at seeing Atkinson with a natural composure and gesturing, instead of the idiotic grimaces we're used to. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE HIS CHARACTER IN MR. BEAN, HE'S A TALENTED COMEDIAN. But seeing his natural demeanor for the first time is really refreshing and pleasing. The guy is even good looking!
Libtard, propaganda bullshit
29:37 And here is the truth of the matter. The skill of driving has become a thing of the past. I remember when I was a young bloke, I rarely drove under 70 - 80 mph on rural Australian roads but my eyes and mind were about a mile ahead and in nothing like todays cars, back then cars were under OUR control. 47:26 Now in 2024 people dont want EV's because they will burn your house down and they DONT help the environment in the long run.
22:38 "He drives in a most extraordinary fashion". Brilliant stuff!
The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why the whole world is Sodom. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)
Reminds one of the sensibly hilarious Dudley Moore,; don't you think?
Roderick is amazing! He should have had his own show, it would have been tremendous!
The best thing about UK Tele is it's not bombarded with unnecessary music and sound effects like US ones. It makes it more authentic and down to earth. Love watching these old show in today's garbage.
It makes difference between elegance and circus...
Ah.... that womb-like cosyness of the cabin.... So why the hell do 90% of cars give you a choice of claustrophobic, suffocating BLACK (to add to the cramped dimensions of an otherwise bigger and bigger exterior) .. or BLACK? Love to hear the psychologists' take on this (know almost certainly it's a deliberate oppressing tactic by car makers.... somehow, hahah
Taking your test in a Austin Maestro I'm surprised you could over speed in one of those lol 😆 Also that cabbie with the Sierra made me cry such a beautiful machine all beaten up
I can entirely relate to Rowan’s early years story. My eldest brother built me an atco lawnmower powered go cart and I would literally spend all weekend driving it around and around the extensive paths of our rambling Edwardian house in Belfast. This progressed to my getting the mini out of the garage for my mother for the school run from about ten onwards. When I was old enough to have a moped I had a Honda SS50 unrestricted ped and went to school on it in a sui, tie and cowboy boots !😂 Like Rowan, I had no lessons and turned up in my Mother’s sporty Alfasud for my test and failed first time for similar ill defined reasons. I have always loved cars and driving since my earliest days. I even recall as a very young child, being sat on the floor of my Father’s Austin landcrab to work the floor mounted headlight dip/high beam switch when he tapped my head!😂. The pursuit of the perfect drive is a lifelong struggle that, for me, simply never wanes. I once saw Rowan driving a red Ferrari on the A14 near Barhill as he passed me. 🎉
Hes friends with Jeremy Clarkson. Please plough a field in season 4...
Rowan has always been the biggest but most apologetic and qiuet petrol head! And he hates electric cars for reasons that fail logic... I think he just loves an engine, which is totally ok!
The humor is surprisingly heavy-handed.

There is something super relaxing and comfortable about old british rooms and accents amplified by old video grain.
Anything vintage actually including in Asia
Subtle deadpan dry humour, constantly wondering if he's taking the piss or not. But seriously the sharp turns with the uncovered massey were a bit on de dangerous side.
You start off by thinking this is some form of spoof Like a Mr Bean by the end you realise it's quite a serious documentary
Eh, no I don’t. It’s a spoof.
No one And I mean absolutely no one will place their car keys On the bar anymore While I ask for a pint
One of the most English things I’ve seen in a long time.
20:48 I lol'd IRL
Green pump handles? Why is he putting Diesel into that car.
I collected enough Tiger Tokens to get my first camera and it was great.
Now we know why Rolf didn't have any friends in Britain.
Surely that Nissan advert is from the early 2000s? £5995 for a Micra is about the same as I paid for my similar Peugeot 206 in 2004.
The first ever PC World in Purley Way Croydon was awesome. I remember they had a PC on display with a modem and I found it had credentials to dial into CompuServe. I might have dialled up and left it connected. at around 6 quid an hour plus call charges.
"comedy style documentary" ; it's known as a Mockumentary
Thanks 👍
MR. BEAN CAN TALK?
A bit of a spaz 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rowan if u see this Can I be your apprentice under your wing so to speak So I can learn of vehicles and acting? I think it would be brilliant
He can talk?
At 0:49 *The Stig* ?!?
Thanks for sharing this gem! Huge love to Rowan and his car enthusiasm, humour and wit.
I wonder if A.I can cleanup the grainy video quality. Lovely story

Curious what was cut @ 30:33 where a white car on left appears to possibly pull out in front of them as they are discussing paying attention. 😄
46:55 - damn straight
I couldn't help but laugh hearing the Rover guy talk about cars having to have style and implying that Rover was a prestigious brand! Yeah sure, just like Austin and Morris!
Austin Princess in Mustard Brown was well classy!!😂
What a great video. That first association with cars really hit home. As a child, I constantly held two toy cars to my chest (even while sleeping) instead of stuffed animals.
Great artist..Sir Rowan Atkinson..very classy..
He's shown recently he wasn't;t guilty at all Right wing twat
Fabulous thank you!
Excellent film which only RA could narrate and explain the reality that is a "petrol head" in an educated sense. The serious part in the middle where the ex police driver explains how to drive is worth looking at and copying. Such an attitude would save lives more than simply fining people for speeding
The round about scene is the funniest piece of tv I've scene. haha I call my driving charismatic . . no you're just an ass hat lol.
Appliance association isn’t it. It’s gov overreach, children mining lithium, precious metals/ materials wasted and unreliability that keeps me wanting electric. I operate equipment and all the electrical junk in the new equipment is holding the construction back and making it way more expensive then it has to be
Not a blue mini in sight!
Why didn't Reichsmarschall von Clarkson beg this man to be on The Grand Tour as a 4th host?! 😂
Those shrinks must have been holding back a lot of laughter during that session. Brave men!
"Skoda"? Did they not know why there was a thingy attached to the "S"? Interesting
