Do not use Rust out if you are using a rust defense or iron removing salt. It will create a gas that smells terrible and can damage your softener. This is from the manufacturer and they dont put it on the label as a warning.

I do this annually when I clean out my sink P traps. Your primary AC drain line likely drains into one of your sink drains. I undo that rubber tube and take a toothbrush and dig out all the gunk. Then pour the vinegar in the attic and wait for it to all drain out. Nasty job but feels good once done. Just did mine 20 minutes ago.

This is just a question and I'm just trying to learn how to best maintain our A/C unit. I was told to never use bleach, since it can actually rust out the coils in your unit. I work for a company that monitors vacation homes and rentals for owners, who are gone. I actually reported a problem with an A/C unit that was leaking and there was a substantial amount of rust coming out of the A/C. Do you know whether this is true or does anybody here know why rust was leaking out of the A/C? For the record, once I report an issue a lot of times, I don't know what caused the issue, our company does not disclose that information. Thanks

You have an image of distilled white vinegar and bleach side by side in your very first shot. Id imagine there are people who see that and think, "got it! 50/50 of two things I have!"And they make hypochlorous acid and kill everybody.

Just moved to Florida in June…so, I am learning g as we go lol! That being said, “My AC Guy” has been ripping me off knowing how clueless I am about AC maintenance, particularity the drain clean out. Got fed up with AC shutting down every 30 days so I found your video.: added the vinegar, waited about 5-10min and magic happened! Started draining like a champ! I will still blow the drain pipe out with compressed air to get rid of the nasty slime but using vinegar to prevent this from happened is priceless! Thanks for sharing!
