I was on the edge of my seat when this first aired. Watching it again gave me the same reaction. Thank God for the, “Time Bandit”. If they had not been keeping an eye out for him, who knows what would of happened.

I remember watching this season and after they rescued him, they had some of the best fishing they've ever seen. They were pulling pots with over 100 king crab each time. Universe has a weird way of working doesn't it

I know a lot of these shows are staged/faked but I tell you what when you have on your oilers, rain gear and your neoprene boots its hard to stay afloat

Sig Hansen said it best "it's not a reality show, it's a documentary" because you can't script a man going into frigid waters with only seconds to live, getting rescued by a nearby vessel and showing how grateful his is that the Time Bandit was there to save him as he was fighting off the hypothermia.

I won't lie, I teared up when his Captain hugged him.

I saved my lil brother from dying after falling in the water. we were on vacation and we were on the back dock that was in the bay right at the mouth of the ocean and it was night time and he fell in and I grabbed his arm but couldn't pull him up because the current was so strong. he was probably about 4 years old and I was about 10 and I was screaming for my father and he eventually opened up the window and told us to keep it down and closed it then finally he came back to the window to yell again and he could tell something was wrong and he got there just in time. I was losing my grip....

I don't think many people really appreciate just how lucky this guy was to survive this. The Bering Sea is an extremely cold water wasteland of death. If the time and it was even a little bit further away from him he probably wouldn't have survived. 150 - 300 seconds maximum is all the body can take.

When he hugged his captain I started tearing up truly a man grateful to be alive.

Get chills watching this. Loved how this man jumped into action for the rescue.

After this all the boats made the deckhands tie a line around them with 2 other deckhands holding onto the deckhand while chaining a stack lesson learned if the time bandit wasnt there he would have been dead by the time his boat came back for him his boat didnt even know he went over until john radio him

*not trying to take away from this* I went overboard today, and it was the coldest shock my body has ever felt. You just start panicking right away, and you don't think about anything else except for surviving. Thank god my skipper was there to pull me up, or I honestly think I would have died in that water

I wonder if they radioed the Captain of the boat saying that they have a man about to go over. What would have happened if the Time Bandit wasn't there? They probably wouldn't have realized the man was overboard until it was to late.
