A lonely expatriate in Singapore exploits his likeness to an American celebrity.
As Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" comes to the end of it's 24 year run on HBO, Matthew Bauer ("The Other Fellow" 2022) releases this bizarre short which was secretly shot in improvisational "Borat" style on location at the Singapore Television Awards. Starring Robert Altman's longtime collaborator Allan Nicholls (BAFTA & WGA Nominee, "Nashville", "A Wedding", "Popeye", "A Perfect Couple", "The Player" "Hair" Original Broadway Cast)

I tracked down the actors and attendees for this short documentary about the Willy Wonka themed Willys Chocolate Experience immersive live event that took place in Glasgow Scotland. Do the people involved think its a scam? Who was 'The Unknown'? What role did AI play? And what did their children really think? #oompaloompa #willyschocolateexperience #theunknown
Aw good on these actors for trying! Good vibes and energy that they’ll find better opportunities ✨💖
This is what hell looks like for kids.
U could be black and convince this chick that your Larry David. Stupid video
@12:21-Michael, you hit the nail on the head with that. It's a tribute to you and the other actors that you all stayed there as long as you did.
Be great if one had a spare billion bucks to really pull this off.
Looks like a place they'd kidnap people, like it looks as if it were a trap for everyone involved lol, I know it ain't but omg it looks so sketchy. Props to the actors though, they really tried, I hope this doesn't look bad on them, then the poor parents and kids who spent time energy and money to go there, looks like it was shit for everyone.
“Fuck it, we’re off to the pub” very typical British response to every situation.
my home city, usually does things quite well this makes me sad ,
Well, it was an unforgetable experience, no question about it. I hope Michael Archibald keep acting, it was his first role and made his best to do something out of a horrible situation with nothing to work with. I appreciate his enthusiasm, and he seems to be a cool and funny guy.
Have not laughed so much for ages , or since the last time i was in Glasgow ,actually thought the unknown and Willy Wonka parts where well played by first time actors
"One of them called me a Willy Wonka from TEMU 😡" lmao. Great video, would love to see more of this style. 👍🏻
Thankyou!
I love that the actors just said, “Fuck it” and went to the pub.
Well that is a very typical British response to pretty much everything
That was quality, take my sub!
Much appreciated!
We really enjoyed it. We weren't expecting to walk onto a film set and there was even a bouncy castle. My kids got a hand full on jelly beans, a few glasses of lemonade each and the staff all stayed in character and answered all wonka questions. We would happily go again
It feels like people actually really enjoyed it... 🤷
@@mattbauerfilm most did not but my family and I really did enjoy it and we want to go again in the future if it reopens
@@karlsmith7016 For that amount of money, too? I think you were the only ones who felt you got your money's worth, but ok.
@@brightballoon it was £35 each and they even gave us a £2 discount because I didn't have the right change. For that we got a chocolate river, hand fulls of jelly beans, many glasses of lemonade, props that looked like they were from a real Wonka movie, actors that dressed as Wonka characters and kept in character for pictures, a super scary mirror character, we were allowed to take pictures with the actors and there was even a bouncy castle. I would happily go again for the same price and I don't see what all the fuss is about
I could listen to that mom named Alana reading the phone book aloud for hours... i think a lot of Americans are totally charmed by the Glasgow accent
I'll let her know you said that ❤
Btw I see this is a new channel. You should definitely continue with uploading your documentaries here.
Great set of interviews! Subscribing
Awesome, thank you!
I wonder if these were the only actors who audition?
There was a few more actors I think
3 wonkas, 4 oompas, one unknown@@poopww5378
Oh well. It worked out for the organizer. He scammed them, got the money and that's it.
No it didn't work out for him. He's got to give all that money back and his 'career' is ruined because his name is all over this. It wouldn't surprise me if lawsuits are on the way to guarantee that he gives refunds.
@@wibble2482I feel like he’s actually not gonna refund them
@@poopww5378He is being sued.
Nah, he didn't run before the opening.
@@mathiasbartl903 He never thought he had to. He was there to make sure it worked out. In his mind he thought some parents would be slightly pissed but wouldn't do anything about it.
