En général, les gens sont juste soit trop méfiant et pressé pour te parler donc ils t'envoie bouler cash, soit ils sont posé et ouvert et là ils sont assez sympa... Mais pas pour autant très utile pour les directions, j'ai eu l'impression que beaucoup de Parisien ne connaissaient que le chemin de leur boulot à leur studio 😅

Ce n'est pas embêtant quand il y a plusieurs tables libres, mais lorsque on a du monde, qu'on est dans le rush et que les gens choisissent quand même la table pas débarrassée, ça me met hors de moi ! Il doit sûrement y avoir une explication psychologique à ce phénomène de toujours choisir la table sale 😂

Il y à longtemps j'ai demandé à un client qui s'installait sur une table sale alors que tout le reste de la terrasse était vide, il m'a dit que c'était pour ne pas me faire marcher pour rien,😉

I didn't laugh one second. French humor is really not funny. The only humorists that I appreciated were "Les Inconnus", Coluche" and "Leluron". All the rest. Not even a chuckle. And as far as not saying bonjour on entering a shop, try it and they get in your face and keep repeating ...bonjour...bonjour..bonjour

Well, in big H&M, Zara etc. it's more anonymous, the sale advisors are bad paid and the job is exhausting. But in any shop in Paris and in whole France you ALWAYS say "bonjour". Always! In the backery, etc. everywhere, even at the supermarket checkout. He may be a little funny at times, but this guy just conveys and reinforces stereotypical and completely exaggerated clichés.

For the critics, you are probably right and that's because French humorists these days have lost the essence of satire. Satire was inherent to French humour all the way back to the 16th century. Probably the last true French satire was Pierre Desproges in the 80s but then you would have to be fluent in French and have a fair amount of French social, political, historical and cultural knowledge to truly appreciate it. The reason being it is all in the words or behind the words, innuendos and so on. I never particularly liked Jerry Lewis myself, he came up long before my generation but I do believe his popularity was due to the fact it was not a satire, he was not conveying a message, he was more like a circus freak and back then post WW2 this is what people needed: a break from the thought provoking satire. These days too many French humorists are looking at the US model as being the ultimate reference and it was also formatted by the need of television. Lenny Bruce would have been the closest thing there was to a French satire but you have to remember even his most loyal followers in New York got fed up with how socially intricate his satire became near the tragic end of his career. It became all too real. People at large don't want it that real. Take Louis CK who is very irreverent, he never had the satiric part. A satire is meant to hit at the power in place, it is a dangerous place to be. It is the counter power that journalists have ceased to be. Humorists these days are jesters keeping us all entertained but they very rarely trigger a reflection and that's true on both sides of the Atlantic sadly. Eddie Murphy who is still recognised as the ultimate show man was all about facial expressions, crude language and racial stereotypes but there was not much to it behind. If anything EM was very much in line with some of the hard line Republicans in power. So definitely not a satire. The way we see humour in France is actually very much similar to a circus, ie there are two clowns: le clown blanc (the white clown) et l'Auguste (the red clown sporting a red nose). The white clown is typically the satire and the rarest kind of clown. There are very few white clowns these days. And the white clowns happen to often excel at acting in dramatic materials. It is much easier to become a red clown than become Pierrot. The audience is also at fault. Ultimately, we chose what we want to see. These days in France you have Kev Adams (form over substance) and maybe Jeremy Ferrari at the other end of the spectrum. The later may mature into a satirist one day. Time will tell. White clowns like Pierre Desproges are impossible to translate because the moment you replace one specific French situation whether social, historical or political with another country equivalent, you lose the target of the satire and it becomes aimless.
