Fantastic. Thank you for posting this, I was unable to attend the parade due to family issues, so I really appreciate seeing this footage. :)
I was in the parade, I'm the standard bearer of the Crosby branch of the Royal Naval Association, front row right hand marker first platoon.
What a great turnout.

Well done on capturing the actual 'bottle smash' so well. Great little video for those of us who could not be there today.
.Tammy wynette songs
👍😊
I had the privilege of attending the first dedication service along with other ex members of the Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth & Cameron), who have had a long affiliation with the Liverpool Scottish. May the friendship between the two Regiments continue.
Freedom Of The City Of Ypres. Freedom of The City Of Liverpool. A magnificent memorial. A superb history and a track record of excellence- especially in terms of the number of Liverpool Scots who served in the Commando's, LRDG, Paras and SAS during WW2. All we need now is for common sense to prevail in the MoD and for the restoration of the finest reserve infantry regiment the British Army ever had.
Brilliant
We were on the same cruise, love your video 👍
The buissness 😚🤩
Hi Phil, I am contacting you from a tv company in Brighton called Crackit Productions. We would potentially like to include some of your footage of the storm at sea in a tv series. Please could you message me back to discuss further? Thank you, Claire
I’ve only just seen your comment sorry, if it’s not too late happy to discuss.
Glad your dream came true!
Where else in the world can you see this.. ?

One of my favorite matches and Im American
This march is tremendous, beautiful and carries depth majesty for all that it is also joyful. Today (Good Friday 2023) I finally understand why I have always loved it. Because there is a special kind of love in it. It is an imperial context which you Americans may not like (we are ALL supposed to be ashamed of it now), but in fact the tune goes into the most basic human nature... The march was written in 1848, and what do we get from it? (and I think we really DO FEEL THIS): 1) relief and joy - the 79th Regiment was going to be sent to the West Indies, which was a hard posting (contrary to what one might imagine) whose usual result was an early death for a soldier from tropical diseases), but at the last moment they were sent from Gibraltar to Canada instead (a kind of second home for a Jock, though cold in winter) 2) humility, and security in the midst of danger - when the 79th got to the St Lawrence the fog was so bad that the captain of the troop ship asked the band to go on deck to play so that other ships would hear and a collision would be avoided - for this reason, the march has regular-blowing trombones and at least some of the pipes play a deep drone sound - to act as a kind of foghorn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lads made it safely into port. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, (some) music can carry deep emotion, love, relief, gratitude and joy - and we feel it when we hear. What a blessing for us!
God Save the Queen!

@@criztu They are not the Queen's horses. They are military horses, owned by the army.

@@26vino How amazing that you say that - look above for my information on the origin of this march in which we can feel the special joy that it encapsulates. I have known this tune for decades, but only today (Good Friday) did I learn how and why it was written...
