Judy Garland performs the definitive version of "Smile"
On the evening of March 10, 1963, the UK's ATV network broadcast that week's edition of Val Parnell's Sunday Night at the London Palladium. From it, this performance by Garland of Charlie Chaplin's tearjerking composition “Smile” survives in the archives along with her triumphant “I Could Go on Singing.”

Greta is sitting there like, please hurry this up because I feel like I'm going to become Leo's next meal any second, and based on the way the lion seems to be looking at her,you could get the impression that he is in fact ready to dig in,like he hasn't eaten in about twice the amount of time that a lion cares to go with no food.

I call this one, something to do before I die.
We used to have fire and nuclear attack drills when I was a kid in school. Go outside the building for a fire drill, down in the school basement for the bomb drill. One time the teachers got confused which one was which, and we went outside for the nuclear bomb drill. They’d probably order us down into the basement for a fire…

Wrong. I made this video myself off my DVR recording of a CBS Sunday morning airing.
No, the Jackie logo here was made by DaVinci030, the video was deleted from CZcams, though.

Marvelous . Just marvelous.
Don’t forget coffee and George has the same roar as tanner
Most people forget that the primary delivery methods of when this was made, were inaccurate IRBMs (Intermediary Range Ballistic Missiles) and Turboprop Tu-95 Bombers (aka Bear bombers). So you had a chance if the missile missed (if you were in a target area) or you were far enough away that "The Bears were coming for you" to get to shelter since there was a chance that they would be shot down and the bomb would go off as the air to air rockets hit the bomber or the bomber hit the ground.... Besides, it beat standing or sitting by a lot of windows waiting for the shock wave to destroy them and send sharp fragments into the classroom!

SHe is good. She is very good. She should have gone further, been bigger. But they had Eve Arden and Nina Talbot and many other great supporting character players. The industry was just too well served at the time. Today of course it`s another story. But she is good, very good.
