    What a lovely deck, and such a chunky book. The appendix looks so fun! I really enjoyed discovering this deck with you. Clever that the runes are hidden. I can see why some might prefer to have them more obvious, especially someone such as myself who is just learning about them. Thurisaz is the only one I couldn't find. It's not a deal breaker for me; the artwork is stunning and the guide book thorough! How wonderful you made your own runes; very inspiring.

    Very interesting! Thank you for this video! The Juniper has called me as well, and I am currently gathering information about the bush 😊 Here in the Finland/Sweden region juniper was used during funerals to ward off negative energy. It is also a symbol of fertility, spring, perseverance and survival. Interesting that there is a species of juniper called "juniper sabina", Sabina is my first name. 😄 Unfortunately, this species does not grow wild here in the north, but can probably be found in gardens. 😊

      Lovely, thank you for sharing your traditions! Yes, juniper is not only a plant with needles (which makes it predisposed to be a protection plant), but it also has a beautiful smell and healing properties, so it's excellent to expel negative energies. Wow, how interesting that juniper has called to you and there is one genus with your name in it! <3

    Watching people older than me, with much experience is always wonderful, it makes me feel like a student. Thank you for your work in previewing these guides. I'm still on my way reading my second book on tarot (plus much more things) by Robert M. Place, just finished the fourth chapter and my head gained a lot of weight. Would you suggest good books for Raider-Waite Smith for a beginner who's reading through Place's guide on Waite and is kind of familiar a little bit with it's symbloism? Side note: Alchemy symbolism led me to Tarot, hence why I got interest in the Alchemical Tarot by Mr. Place.

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins Před měsícem

      Hi! Actually I haven't read Robert Place's books, so I cannot tell. The advice I would give myself from 12 years ago would be: don't worry too much about the symbolism and arcane knowledge, tarot can actually be very pragmatic and down to earth :) There is of course a lot of fascinating symbolism in the tarot, but sometimes what we need is a straightforward approach which will help us make changes in our everyday lives. But that's only my point of view :) I know I sometimes got overwhelmed by the multifasceted symbolism, Kabbalah, astrology and many other things attatched by some writers to tarot. For me this is too much and actually prevents us from going deeper into tarot itself. If you are a beginner and would like to learn how to read RWS, I think that books by Joan Bunning or Barbara Moore will be easy to follow. If you want to learn about the symbolism, I guess Arthur Waite's book will be the best.

      @@wolfofcoins Thank you for giving a full answer, I literally have no more questions, what I had already been answered in your reply. I'll look at Joan Bunning and Moore then, your approach is kind of new to me, due to Place being the first teacher I read about regarding Tarot.

    • @perfectheretic
      @perfectheretic Před měsícem

      I'd suggest you to look into Place's Book titled: The Tarot, Magic, Alchemy, Hermeticism, & Neoplatonism. over 600 pages, was extremely readable for someone who's basic in English and always suffer reading in English written books. Like the book title says, he'll go through tarot and the mentioned topics history, starting with the pre-historic shamanism, to ancient egypt; Osiris, Serapis, Toth, Mesopotimia, the Semitic invasion, Abraham the prophet of the three faiths to Solomon and his story with Ashmedai the demon who tricked the wise king, Christianity, Islam. As of now (in chapter 5) as a beginner the book is very digestible, to a knowledgeable people such as you it'll be much easier. :D

They look great, but more to the point, i totally agree with you about the card stock from La Scarebo. I wonder if those who complain about it are mainly those who buy just to collect. I have a couple of their decks and I love their card stock because it's easier to shuffle and handle which encourages me to actually use them for reading. Thank you. Loving your videos.

      @@wolfofcoins The deck has totally lived up to expectations and surpassed in some ways. The first thing to say is that yes, the Lo Scarabeo card stock is excellent as ever. Secondly it is a very good reference deck because it is very close to the original Conver style. In fact it's basically a Pierre Madenie deck and therefore very close to the CBD, without the small extra interpretations added by Ben Dov. Lastly, the little white book is possibly the best one I have ever come across. Normally I take a quick look, think what a poor effort that's full of mistakes or confusions and never open it again. This one is a model of clarity and gives just enough information that you could easily get started without any book and probably keep going for a long time with just the LWB. If only all decks had one just as good. The writer would be a fantastic teacher.

It was quite funny how the runes commented on your dislike of matt finish 😄We are really happy and proud of how it looks, but you are right - it might be even better with a rune symbol printed on the card itself. It would make searching for rune hidden in the illustration much easier 😉And about the Dagaz... That was quite lame, but we thought that the shape of butterfly would be enough to communicate how Dagaz rune looks like. I'm delighted to see you've given it a try! I don't want to give away any of your responses, but I think your responses are terrific! You're not the only person who chose that card for #2. Great choice and explanation! The Tarot of the Holy Light is an example of Continental Tarot. It's got just about every tarot reference ever invented lol. My husband recently made a visit to Poland and he loved it there!! Thank you for participating and I will tag you in the description of my video so others can watch your response. ~ Marilyn

    Recipes in books I love because I can try before putting in my BOS but I struggle with books with lots of exercises...my tiny brain seems to baulk. I will always be a beginner and a perpetual student so maybe I need to address this challenge and work with books with exercises 😂...I have a few witch books and sometimes struggle with the same material.being regurgitated so reviews are so helpful and what author works for one may not work for another. I have added this to my wishlist as I enjoyed your thoughts and refreshing to hear you question what didnt perhaps initially feel understood and how you felt you read it one way and how different you felt reading it again with a changed perspective.(happens to me alot) I have to recommend Thorne Mooney's The Witch's Path, it's not condescending or dry and has, I feel, a good balance of information that doesn't hurt my brain😂😂😂 lovely review Magdalena xxx

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins Před 2 měsíci

      It is so true about one author working for one person and not working for another! I, for example, seem to be impervious to the writings of Caithlin Matthews, even though she writes on topics I like! But I just bounce off of her texts, like a rubber ball xD Thank you for your recommendation, I will check it out! Love xxx M.

    • @madwitch9977
      @madwitch9977 Před 2 měsíci

      As much as I LOVE Caitlin Matthews I find her writing very academic and dry ...I'm not intellectual enough, preferring authors like Sharon Blackie to turn myth into stories like I'm a little girl again...I prefer reviews that are balanced with how the reader really felt and you did justice to your experience 💐

    is this a lecture on feminism or what I'm half way in this bullshit and still havnt heard anything about slavic gods except you being upset because you can't humble yourself as a woman and wash the dishes instead of making yt videos. no wonder women weren't aloud to speak in divine temples in most parts of the world (usually the more successful parts btw)

    Hi do you ever get angry working with this deck. The reason I am asking is because I believe it was made by a Russian creator. I really love the art. I am an Indian and would think twice before using a deck crated by a British person on Indian culture. Hence asking

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins Před 3 měsíci

      Hi! I don't have a problem using this deck. It is a Slavic deck by a Russian creator (a Slavic person), so there is no contradiction here for me.

    Bravo, Magdalena! Beautiful deck, What a labor of love! Could you elaborate on why you chose the leaves as a depiction of the divine. Do you mean to say that for you the divine is Nature? I can see that, but also imagine images of Spirit as well. Like mandala images or Magical Beings or Figures, etc. Of course we don't REALLY know who or what God is, but only have our imagination and experience to approximate it in our 3 dimensional existence.. Much love, Anne

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you, Anne! Yes, the divine is in Nature for me, but not only. The linden tree is a symbol of my matron goddess, so there's the connection to the card :)
