    Julie, this video saved my life! OK, well, maybe not my life but my design. I am super new to ME with just a few in-person classes under my belt. I purchased a free standing lace design and when I was almost through I ran out of bobbin. Somehow, in the process of changing the bobbin I lost my place and have been searching the internet for 2 days when I finally found this video. While I have a different model Babylock (Altair) the keys, except for the scan, were exactly the same and I was able to realign my design and finish my project. Ten thumbs up for making this video and I will definitely be saving it.

    Hi Julie, I have watch this video of yours from Oct. 2017 several times and was very excited about the new designs and new features that came with it, so I purchased it to install on my brother dream machine 2, I recently updated to version 3.10, but that didn't change anything on my machine. I purchased the premium pack2, thinking I would get the new designs that you got with your software, is this the same software package that you upgraded your machine with. Right away I noticed the designs on the back of the package was the designs I already have on my machine, I didn't want to go any further with the installation incase I have to send it back. Would you please show me a picture of the package that you purchased, so I can see if it is the same software, I'm sorry to be so long with this email, but I don't know what else to do, thank you for your time.

    Hi Julie 🙋🏾‍♀️ I just watched your table runner video and continued to scan through for more, and I saw this video and was so excited! Just yesterday I pulled out this software to study the instructions. And didn't see where they are. It was so frustrating going through everything I could. I went on line for help and the chat was useless. Is it on the CD or do I have to get that elsewhere 🤔 Thank you for this video. I know I'll need all the info that you provided.

    No one could have done this video any better. Julie has a great voice for the instructions, spoke slowly, showed all steps up close so I could see what she was pushing on the screens, and simplified the instructions so I could understand what she was doing. I will watch this over and over again till I can remember how to do this. These two features (adding designs and stippling around designs) were the determining factors in me buying the Dream Machine. I WOULD NOT TRADE THIS MACHINE. Thanks Brother !!!!

    Why can't all the clip on guides face the front? That's how I have mine set up? Then all the threads have a clear path to the lower vertical thread guide.

    The MuVit foot is a great choice when sewing these tiling scenes together. It keeps the layers from shifting. Also, I change to one size larger needle when stitching the blocks together to give my needle a fighting chance.

    I would like you to clarify how to go back. Say on this design we have entered all the three leaf things in a circle placement and added a couple more circles and then decide one of those triple leaf thingies needs to be rotated a smidge. How do you do it or is it too late?

    Your tutorials are awesome! I think we are at the point where a lot of users have purchased their machines second hand and need help. I got mine through Brother because of a family hook up and it did not come with training. NEVER AGAIN! But, your tutorials are very helpful and I wish you would do more even though I know the DM2 is older now and not sold anymore. No one seems to care about it anymore which shocks me. How is a $6,000 machine (and up) no longer supported? It seems crazy to me.

  • @marywilliams5262
    @marywilliams5262 Před 3 lety

    I hope you can help me. I have difficulty when I scan ...say part of my quilt...and then try to apply an all-over quilt design but erase the part from the area I do not want it to stitch. It tells me the data is to large so I have to go back and start all over with another scan. I want to be able to do a scan and then either draw around the part I want to fill or just pick the hoop size, fill it with a design like stipple and then erase it from the part of the quilt where I want to put something else. I am wondering if it needs me to do the design and then delete the scan since I do not need it once it served its purpose? I bought my machine through Brother because my nephew worked for them and did not get any classes. This is my most desired skill.

      Hi Vickie, if you have the ruler tapes, I measured out the top and marked the center with a Sharpie and started at the center of the ruler tape and adhered them to the top. I then went back with a Sharpie and marked the ruler.

    Hi Julie! Have you ever considered moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada? I’d love to have you as my neighbour!! I love your videos. You explain things so well. My only question right now is, if I was to do a quilt (which I’m no where’s near attempting), how would I do the stippling throughout the entire quilt? Obviously the rectangle on the machine isn’t the size of the quilt. I hope you can help! I look forward to more of your videos. I’m not good at reading manuals. I get all mixed up.

    Thank you Julie. I was not very successful but getting there! It took me some time following your instructions to get a result. (Me not your instructions).Although I managed to get the stippling with outline only of sleeping beauty, I could still see the design underneath when using the camera. I tried to turn off background in settings but it was greyed out. Is there a way of resetting it. In the end I just started to stipple to see what would happen as I had already scanned in the stitching.At first It was okay but then the stippling tried to stitch over the embroidery I had sewn. When I could see that happening I went forward stitches to avoid it. Because of the ghost outline it was stitching in wrong place. It will only be a practice piece. I also think when I took it off machine I noticed I had not rehooped it centrally and because I could not turn off background. In a way I was not too disappointed because I at least got as far as learning how to just have stippling around outline only,thanks to you. Thank you for your advice about stabilizer. Any advice how to reset background button. Thank you for helping me. I am not sure if I explained it well, I feel a bit stupid but hopefully I will get there. So much to learn on the Luminaire. Can I ask what the realign P1-P3 are. Thank you

    • @JulieMurphyDreamMachine
      @JulieMurphyDreamMachine Před 3 lety

      foreverwestlife1 I’m sorry you are still struggling..The Realign P1-P3 are a series of videos I did that help you realign a design in the hoop when you have something go wrong and need to realign your design when you are partway through stitching. Also, I am not sure I understand where you are having trouble with the design underneath...there is a button that you can press on the screen that will remove the scanned image...let me check the videos and see if I can find the one I talk about it.... found it I talk about the button I think you are talking about in the Project Pumpkin video Part 1 at about the 2 minute mark. Let me know if that is what you mean about seeing the scanned image

    Thank you. I love the way you explain each step and at a speed most people could follow. I have been having trouble stippling around Sleeping Beauty on my Luminaire XP1. I had already taken it off the hoop, but after pressing it I got more puckers and I thought stippling would cover them. I scanned it in, after reattaching in the hoop. I tried so many times with no success, I think I was getting more confused each time I tried something different. I see now why I had a shadow of the scan underneath. I am new to the Luminnaire XP1 and have got both upgrades. I am going to watch your video again step by step and hopefully I will be successful!!! Thank you very much for time taken in making this video.xx

    • @JulieMurphyDreamMachine
      @JulieMurphyDreamMachine Před 3 lety

      I hope everything worked out. Puckers generally happen when there is not enough stabilization. One thing that helps is if you know you can wash the fabric after stitching, then I would definitely use a Tacky Wash Away Adhesive on top..I use the Floriani Wet-n-Gone Tacky. The Realign Design P1-P3 should be helpful in realigning the design in the hoop. I also own an XP1 and love it. Let me know if you need any other help.

    • @JulieMurphyDreamMachine
      @JulieMurphyDreamMachine Před 3 lety

      Hi Barbara, I mention that PEDesign 11, my embroidery software, now has Floriani...which is great when working on a design and I think the problem has arisen in making the designs turn all one color is that our machines don't have Floriani. I would be nice if the engineers with Brother could make it so they can be read when transferring a design to the machine.
