Psalm 135 - Orthodox Byzantine Chant
About this chant:
This piece is performed by the monks of Simonopetra Monastery (Mount Athos, Greece). The lyrics are from the Septuagint Greek translation of the Old Testament, written around the 2-3 century BC.
About the paintings:
In the foreground is the painting 'Saints Cyril and Methodius' (1937) by Jano Kohler. These were two brothers who were born in Thessalonica, then located in the Byzantine (today in Greece) - Cyril in about 827-828 and Methodius in about 815-820. Cyril was the youngest of seven brothers; he was born Constantine, but was given the name Cyril upon becoming a monk in Rome shortly before his death. Methodius was born Michael and was given the name Methodius upon becoming a monk in Polychron Monastery at Mysian Olympus (present-day Uludağ in northwest Turkey). These brothers are responsible for Christianizing the Danubian Slavs and for influencing the religious and cultural development of all Slavic peoples, received the title “the Apostles of the Slavs.” The brothers are said to be reverenced at the same level as the Twelve Apostles.

by José Moreno Carbonero. Roger de Flor was born in the Kingdom of Sicily, the second son of an Italian noblewoman of Brindisi and a German falconer. At eight years old Roger was sent to sea in a galley belonging to the Knights Templars. He entered the order and became captain of a galley. After rescuing wealthy survivors during the siege of Acre by the Mamluk Sultan Al-Ashraf Khalil in 1291, he went to Cyprus. Following intrigues and personal disputes he was accused of robbery and denounced by the Pope as a thief and an apostate. This resulted in his relegation from the order. Roger fled to Genoa, where he borrowed a considerable sum of money, purchased a new vessel, and began a career in piracy. The Aragonese kings of Aragon and the French kings of Naples struggled for the possession of Sicily. At this time Roger was one of the most experienced military commanders of his time, was called to the service of Frederick, King of Sicily, who gave him the rank of vice-admiral.
Emperor Andronicus II Palaeologus of the Byzantine Empire was facing siege by the Ottoman Turks, an Islamic tribe approaching the capital of his empire after defeating his armies and ransacking most of his domains. Looking for assistance from the European kingdoms, Andronicus II made Roger an offer of service along with the Almogavar army under his command. In September 1302, Roger with his fleet and army, now known as the Catalan Company, 6,500 strong, arrived at Constantinople. He was adopted into the imperial family, married the emperor's niece Maria Asenina and made grand duke and commander-in-chief of the army.

Agni Parthene was composed in the late 19th century. It’s not Byzantine. Why do you lie?
Byzantine Orthodox is another name for the Eastern Orthodox just as the Latin church is another name for the Romans’ church. As such, Agni Parthene is a product of the Byzantines.

Whenever I think of the great chastisement that some Catholics are saying that could happen, I listen to this song because it puts me at ease and helps me to calm down. Yes the chastisement will great and possibly have dire repercussions but I have to remember that I'm on God's side and he knows what he's doing and hopefully he'll spare the faithful like myself and my mom from the chastisement. And I urge other people to repent of their sins and redeem themselves before it's too late. In order that in the hopes that the chastisement doesn't get severely worse. Well pray the daily rosary every day as best as you can, Pray the novena to Divine Mercy and chaplet daily, pray any novena that you know of such as the Our Lady of Fatima novena which starts tomorrow and go to confession and to Eucharistic adoration.

The pronunciation of the koine Greek is the same as today's Greek, the ancient one was lost long before and it wasn't even the same all over the Greek speaking world.

It may be a reference to Judges 3:36-40 where said fleece placed on the floor is found to be dewy, which was suggested to mean that help will be received for Israel as promised.
