My jaw dropped When this worked. Must have strained mine playing basketball on an impact play, and it had been getting worse for a few days. I was 12 in 1960. The national age group record was 25.1, held by Tom Jamison. I swam 26.8. And 28.2 for 50 butterfly.

Well lm 12 and my time is 58.21 so that's how i know I can't swim breaststroke 💀💀

One of the most AMAZING swimmers of all time - full stop. Had the opportunity to know, swim and train with Jesse @Univ of Miami when I was a club swimmer. Let me just say, that Jesse was the Hardest Working most incredible athletes that have ever existed. This guy would literally turn himself inside out on a daily basis and it was not unusual for him to push himself so hard he would (nearly) puke in practice. When that occurred, Charlie Hodgson, our beyond brilliant coach would just smile as we all knew we were in the presence of greatness. I would personally like to thank Jesse as he changed my life; not because of his world records, but purely due to his work ethic and kindness. Thank You Jesse! Mike Bennett, MD.
