Sometimes you use regular Crayola and others the Model Magic. Is there a difference?
Hiya, Grammjam! There is a difference in the texture. Model Magic is softer with a marshmallow texture. It dries quicker & lighter. It’s not as weighty. I find that’s it’s less likely to crack. It’s a little easier to manipulate, too, in my opinion Crayola Air Dry has a wetter, more clay typical texture. It takes a wee bit longer to dry & cracks more frequently. It generally is harder when it dries than MM. However, sometimes, the cracking adds to the aesthetic, for a more vintage style. It’s really just a matter of preference. I started with the Crayola Air Dry, when I first started using clay because it was what I saw others using & it’s economical. For most projects, I prefer MM, at least at the moment. That is subject to change 😂 I just recently tried Creative Paper Clay. I really enjoyed working with that clay as well, although it’s pricier. If you’re looking for a good beginner friendly clay, I would recommend Model Magic. Hope this answers your question. Thank you for reaching out & watching! Happy Tuesday!❤️🥰❤️
