Thank you for this, very informative.
💜💜💜🙏
Women from the generation of real lesbians -- not queers, not trans men, or any other such anti lesbian nonsense.
I would move to a place like this in a heartbeat. As long as it was exclusively women's space, no men who claim to identify as women, no autogynophiles or the like. Just have a safe and communal place for women.
I could listen to Blanche all day ❤
Super cool presentation and magazine. Astonishing 50 year (and continuing!) achievement. Thank you, LC leaders and community!
I am so inspired!!!! Where do I sign up?
Her music reminds me of the true beauty of the lesbian community that is so easy to forget today. Im glad her music is apart of my lesbian story!
Thank you so much for this. I have only just begun to watch GJ and joined the search for anything about her online and found … YOU🎉🎉🎉 Im so glad I did, so pleased to find your channel and this lovely video. I want to be a lister sister !! Much love to you all. Please please keep making this content. My love and I feel quite alone sometimes and it’s so lovely to see you all. ❤
Excellent presentations. Thank you! Time to rewatch the show!
I am a lesbian and an Ann Lister fan, but I have to say I'm seriously bothered by the way lesbians are using a slur to re-introduce her to the world today. It's great that she has been rediscovered, but why use the "Gentleman Jack" slur to promote your books, tv shows and other media. How much do you think you'd like it when future generations refer to you by the slurs that are hurled at us every day? It doesn't surprise me at all that straight women and the rest of the LGBblah blah blah community insults lesbians like this. I think it stinks that modern day lesbians disrespect her in death this way and you should stop doing it. And while I'm at it, from what I understand, Ann Lister HATED being referred to as MISS Lister, pretty much the same way lesbian women today reject the MISS. in favor of Ms. She didn't have the advantage of using an alternative like Ms to describe her.... but again, if you are fans of Ann Lister, why would you use the tools of the master to put a woman down in a way she fought while alive? Do better.
🙏💜💜💜🙏
💚💚💚💚💚💚
I hope they stay active and vital a good long time!!!
love her. she rocks
Yes, we do love you. Thank you all so much. Especially Holly. ;)
I feel right at home with all the names mentioned. Wow, Spirit Healer writer, my all time favourite song. 💜💜💜
Sooo many memories... thank you
Many seemed to pass on too young. xo
May they dance forever in the arms of the Goddess. Au revoir Sisters! 💜💜💜
Two years along and I see this. While I never met Alix personally we had a lovely interaction on Facebook where I was able to tell her about when I used to play that song on vinyl- my then two year old loved that song. I had to explain where we lived (Yesler Terrace, a project in Seattle)in 1976, it was not a good idea to sing the chorus “Any woman can be a lesbian!” at the top of her lungs. Alix was delighted. I will miss her forever.
This really brings back wonderful memories! Thank you for writing this book.
Karla's talk and memories of lesbian liberation, going back over 50 years (I was active in W. Europe doing the same) shows us how lesbians are going backwards to square one! Lesbian only dances are banned here in Australia, unless we admit transsexuals or anyone else to our events. Radical lesbians had to go underground again, to protect lesbian centred spaces from men claiming to be women/lesbians. We've got to keep going, I agree, for younger same sex attracted lesbian/women, who are shunned by the LGBTIQA++ sexist lesbophobic charade. Thank you Karla for putting this into perspective with how it was 50+ years ago. I remember and I ain't going back there! 💪💪💪
Thank you! Would love to hear the Q&A too.
Thank you!
It's somewhat telling that no one let the Black woman speak about being Black and doing this. She brought up being in confederacy land and was told let's move on. It's a fact many face and is a huge factor why many wouldn't do this.
I cry every time I listen to this song. So touching and deeply expressing what the need for womyn's lands is about.
beautiful composition and playing!
Thanks so much for documenting lesbian feminist history. Love this channel. Great work as usual OLOC.
Such a Gift! 💓💓💓
Thank you xx
SERIOUSLY?
What a TREAT!!! You made my day! I so enjoyed this here in Down Under Melbourne! You two totally uplifted my heavy lesbian soul. Much gratitude for your superb performance with Dyke antics frolicking around. As we mourn the passing of our brilliant genius artist Sister Suzanne Bellamy, I'm sure she'd just caught this delight on her way out. May she rest in the arms of the Goddess, and rejoin our beloved Alix Dobkin. Thank you Sisters. You made my day. Margo xox

Oh yes, Mama Bears, I matronized them a longg time. Saw Alix Dobkin there several times, Judy Fjell, Margie Adams and others
Thank you. I feel so sad at Alix's passing.
Hello Sisters ! Love to you all !!! I'm concerned for you and the land regarding the recent news of fires. Are there any update on those in New Mexico & Oregon ? Hope to hear from you again and soon.
No reply? 🙄😰 Did you get in touch with anyone in other ways? Womyn's land in Australia = The Mountain, Her land, The Valley, once called Amazon Acres was badly affected by bush fires in what we now call the Black Summer 2019/2020 when 50+ national parks burnt out! The whole of the East Coast was on fire from North to South! So many lesbians have cared for this land. We still have gatherings there, even now, and yet again are repairing the land.
Thank you for doing this amazing set of interviews. I'm interested in all of them 🙂. I've got 2 1/2 more years before full retirement. However, I'm hearing the call to find a spot soon. Looking forward ! I'm skilled, physically fit and have many good years ahead to put to good use.
You're getting close to retirement, I hope that you have your dream of women's space come to fruition.
Can anyone tell me what those songs are? I love them
How do I find Maze Magazine that you mentioned at the beginning of the show?
I was hanging out for this Part 2. I loved Part 1! Will watch this as soon as I have time. Can't wait!!!
Rest In Peace Alix Dobkin

I loved hearing everyone discussing this most important, yet often overlooked, time in the history of women and the world. Thanks for making this available on youtube for those of us who missed it live. Retts...you should host a regular youtube show.
