Great video. It was a lot of work but looks to be a successful swap of the torque convertor. I'm needing to change mine out, I'm just wondering if you were happy with the torque converter you purchased so far?
Thank you. The torque converter we got is still working great and has always shifted smoothly.

Hey man just wondering I changed my fuel injectors out it all back together and started the car it make a loud violent squealing sound bro what do I do man 🤦♂️
Gonna need to identify where exactly the squealing sound is coming from. Usually, it's the serpentine belts.
You don’t know how easy you made my life 💯🙏🏼
How did you know what the max height setting was for the rear?
I never maxed the rear out, but it can go alot higher.

hey have you ever had the lights just stop working i put mine on literally the same ones from amazon and i woke up today and noticed they aren’t working anymore it’s not the 10 fuse and i don’t think it’s the like ground i think that’s what the cube is but i haven’t really checked the wiring that connects to the battery but i can’t figure out what it could be the difference from my normal day to today that could’ve affected the rock lights is the fact that i had my truck on a lift so i can take the wheels off other than that tho i dont see any wire damage that could’ve been smashed by the truck and lift help pls
These lights are still working great for us. You'll need a multimeter to diagnose any electrical issues. If none of the lights are working and the fuse is good, there must be an issue with the controller/its wiring, or the wiring that goes to the battery.
@@rosstrittler yea sorry for the late reply i been working on figuring out the issue but i still have no luck so i tried changing the fuse no good i tried changing the relay no good i even tried just clamping the red and black wire to new clamps onto the the same bolt i had it on which is the both that hold the actually battery clamps down tight i believe you guys did that to so everything that i could replace i replaced and it still make no difference i’ve come to the conclusion that it could be the connecting wire that goes from the harness to the web of rock light wires or it can be the block receiver (the thing you connect the relay to) idk what it’s called but ima buy the same kit again just replace the main components i think it should be the best option and also if i buy the kit that means i get another set of 12 lights you think i can just connect those 12 with a wire coming off from the web of wires im sorry its hard to explain but i tried my best thank you
once i buy the new kit ima replace stuff that is in the hood and im asking if with the extra rock lights if connecting the other 12 with one of the 12 wires that are together and basically having to sets of 12 wires under the truck
I think I'm following what you are saying. You want to replace the spider wiring harness (in hopes that it fixes your issue) and use the additional 12 rock lights with your already installed 12 rock lights, with a total of 24 rock lights running off a harness that was originally intended for just 12 lights. If I understood that correctly, I think if everything is wired correctly you shouldn't run into any issues doing that. Off camera, we took one of the leads, spliced into it, and ran 3 more of the same rock lights inside the front grill, with a total of 4 lights coming off one lead. Everything worked great and the light output of the 4 lights was equally as bright as the other 11 lights that had their own separate leads. As for running another 12 lights: it is possible that you won't have enough amperage to power up the 24 lights to their full brightness since the wire gauge running to the power and ground is very small, I think 30 gauge. If that is the case you might want to upgrade the harness to a thicker gauge wire.
@@rosstrittler okay sounds good and yes you understood perfectly
What’s you ig ?
rosstrittler
Damn kolbey sent that thang

Having same EXACT issues you having gonna do same EXACT thing you doing😂😂
Check your spark plug gap, too. That ended up being my issue for the engine breaking up at high rpm
Nice i may do this but when it rains add a water proof protection bag over filter
Not a bad idea
Glad you got it all sorted! Swapping out that fuel pump is quite the process!
It's definitely a must-have for these cars
The wiring looked like it belonged until the battery connections. Nice setup. Glad to see you are getting more sponsors.
Thank you
It's always the 5 th cylinder
Lucky number I guess
Does that optional "ballast" have anything to do with newer vehicles trailer sensing systems? My understanding is that light bars make some newer vehicles go berserk, and some light bar manufacturers have countermeasures.
Possibly, we never looked into it.
My g35 came w new wheel bearings that were uninstalled. Watching this video I’m just going to order the complete hub assembly. Less work to do .
Not a bad idea, just costs a little more.
is that crank salvageable
Yes, it needs to be repolish at the minimum and possibly grounded down for oversized bearings.
I didnt follow- did this engine get destroyed due to stuck injector? That is freaking scary if so...
It spun a rod bearing. I have no idea why the injectors were so frozen in. My n54 injector pulled out pretty easy.
About the 3 screws on metal bracket problem, there's a easy solution. After taking off the throttle body, you will see the metal bracket. You should see 2 metal tabs going thru the bracket slits left and right. It's connected to the bracket with 3 screw holes above it. I see it on your video. Use the big flat tip screwdriver and push the tab back left and right side of the housing. I'm not sure if i pulled on the housing while pushing the metal tab with screwdriver. Its so easy once you doi it. Yeah i hated it on my first time doing it that i replaced 3 of them with phillip screws. I almost broke a wire while getting at it. But now its piece of cake in less than 1 min. Putting it back is super easy. Just slide in the 2 flat tabs back in. Funny thing is you tapped your finger pointing to the locking tab and complaining why BMW made it so difficult. Your finger was literally on the tab. That hump is what you have to press down to unlock.
I tried sliding it off, but it seemed like it needed a ton of force, and when I pried on the tabs, they just started bending as if they were going to break. I like my new solution a lot better. Now I dont have to worry about that mess of wiring and making sure everything is plugged in with the intake manifold on. Thanks for the tip, though, I'm sure some other people here could use it. Might be going to a different manifold here in the future.
You have a good solution too.
They rub?
Yes, we had to do the norcal mod.
Are you going to rebuild the engine?
No, this was really just for education. I hope to do a engine rebuild someday.
The truck turned out nice. Good job seeing this project through. So many people start projects like this and they never get done. I still think your truck could use some different wheels and tires. Overall you did an awesome job bring that truck back from the dead.
Thanks man, definitely on the hunt for a bigger wheel and tire setup.
Looks awesome good work!!
Thanks Nikki
Time for some offset wheels!
Soon 🤞
Not a good idea car will over heat I did this and car overheated all the time after a hour drive . If you’re going to do this run a water line from the center of the rear of the engine and run it to that side of the engine behind the thermostat …trust me on this one
Thanks for the warning. I haven't had any issues with it yet, but I might go back and change somethings based on the comments on this video.
Part 2 ? Didn’t see it. What was wrong with it? 😬 GERMANY HERE 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
Wow, all the way from Germany! Unfortunately, there is no rebuild or part 2 for this engine. Made this video for educational purposes.
@@rosstrittler ok. But it was broken? What was the issue? 😬
@doktormercedes the rotating assembly was locked up from the engine sitting for so long. I had to take nearly everything off that I could to only have it rotate barely to remove the torque converter to get the engine on a stand. I believe there was also a timing issue as well which may have lead to the engine sitting for so long.
do you know the torque spec of the center nut??
Somewhere around 200ft lbs, I don't remember exactly.
Realistically about 5hp and 6tq
If that, lol
This is why I came to the comments. At least we’re not all stupid.
I think the best intake for the N54 is the AFE twin dry filter intake! It’s pricey but my car ripped with that intake! It sits up top & the snorkel sits right in line to blow air into them….✌🏻🏁
Hello ! On m’a toujours dis sur le N54 que l’admission d’origine avec un filtre KN était le mieux . Avec les doubles filtres sans boites ,quasi pas d’air (à part du chaud arrivé dedans )
@@scorpioncubain I don’t know what this says! Another thing about the AFE is you can get the blue oiled filters or the grey non oil filters, those are the ones I ran! Oil gets in the way, if the filters made good enough, you don’t need oil. Just maintain them! One more thing about the AFE in take is the polymer dual piece that the filters go on, that piece has heat shielding molded into it, so it keeps the heat out better….🔥
Nice. Gave me a few things to think about. Thanks for putting this together.
Glad to hear it!
how the heck did you make that shield look so easy, i called it a night after fighting with the second e8 to get it off
If I remember, I struggled getting it off too.
how did you get the screws off the braket for power steering resivor?
I didn't take the screws off the bracket. I just had some spare bolts that were laying around that were the same size and thread pitch, and I threaded them from the bottom on the new bracket.
Link to where the rock lights came from. Thanks
I wasn't able to find the exact link but all the rock lights that look like the ones in the video are the same and we got them off Amazon.
Awesome vid. Was there ever a part 2?
I know I tucked the battery to alternator cable by getting a larger 6 gauge battery cable, although, I never filmed it. My G35 build has kind of been put to the side at the moment, but I hope to start on it again soon.
Is this at thunder valley in?
Kansas city
@@rosstrittler Good track!
The truck looks nice, but those tires make it look like it skipped leg day.
Lol, thanks. I've been in the market for some different wheels and tires for a while.
Will I need to get that ratchet set that goes all the way through for the hold on the shock mount?
yes
Is there error code appear after change to led bulb?
No, these bulbs are error free
What size lift you have ?

Thanks!
But doesnt there come much more dirt in the intake now ?
Nothing crazy, these type of filters are washable anyway
What wheel rings are you running?
