I legitimately hated The Last One with a fueling passion. I gave it 3 stars but upon reflection, it's more like a 2 for me. It was soooo long and I was so annoyed at the ending lol. I knew it was going to end that way too, it felt so lazy and predictable.

I liked Dark Matter but agree with your comments, the family/emotional beats were too heavy handed. I liked Recursion better (more time wimey, neuroscience) and would recommend that be the next Crouch you try!

Here is a true crime book (Not gory) that came out this year. It'll make you mad and sad. It's hard to put down. It's about my two girlfriends (yes, they were my friends And I was suppose to go with them) that were going to go to a party at the end of our junior yr of high school back in 1971. They disappeared for over 40 years. I'm the Debbie in the book that Cheryl called after school and asked me to go with them and another friend (Donna) convinced me not to go. We are still friends to this day. Vanished In Vermillion by Lou Raguse.

AHHHH, I love love loved this video. I have always loved your book review videos in general but it was so much fun to see how passionately you talked about your writing. You've seem to have done your research already so I wouldn't be surprised if you've already heard of these youtbers but these people have helped me so so much and yeah, I have a list. 1. Ellen Brock: she's an editer and she doesn't post consistently but when she does, she provides so much value as all of her videos are so detailed. 2. ShaelinWrites / Reedsy: I've been watching her since middle school and yeah, she's great as well. 3. Sarah Lubratt: she does a really great job of sharing what she learns about writing as she learns the craft herself so she's great too. 4.Abbie Emmons: Abbie really dives into story structor and gives real concrete info that helps give new insight to stories. Now I know they are all beautiful white women and there isn't much diversity in this list but they are tried and true, promise. I've also found that basic story structure/analysis in terms of film have also helped my writing as well. good luck with revisions though, will definitely be checking in during future updates :)

[SPOILERS] I was wondering too about what happens in the end with the Earth. I really liked your speculation that humans would eventually arrive to Erid, as they are more technologically more advanced, and now they have the most efficient fuel making speace travel very cheap. What I was wondering is with on top of that, and very quickly learning about each other thanks to Grace and Rocky, both forms of life will have the interstellar cooperation of sharing new knowledge and finding ways to do more ambitious space travel, and I'm thinking that they both would take over the Tau Seti system (I think it's close to middle between the Earth and Erid), study the origins and mysteries of Astrophage and Taumoebia (like how it was contagious to nearby stars and also to potentially see if Rocky's theory of common ancestor is correct). Furthermore, given that all three life forms are within a few light years apart, statistically there must be many more forms of life to explore and cooperate with the intelligent ones, and so on and so forth ...

Loved this book. And i also loved the discussion part of the video, a lot of the thoughts you had are similar to the thoughts i had while reading. (i’m afraid to type more cause I don’t want to include spoilers.) Great video!!!
