***** his refusal to kill the kids in the car (and his murder of sosa's associate) was what directly led to him getting wiped out by that hit squad, but his problems started in this scene right here, this is where he started alienating his wife and his best friend and i believe it is the scene right after this where tony switches money launderers and gets himself in trouble with the law and needs sosa's help to clear up his troubles...his downfall started slowly and this scene is where it began..

***** when he started out he was a lean and hungry go-getter...ambitious...he was an unstoppable ass-kicker...then as his actions started resulting in massive success he started having problems...he went from what he was in the beginning of the film to an out-of-control egomaniac and cokehead, to boot...it's a classic rise-and-fall story...during the first half of the movie you see him struggling to survive then making big moves in the drug business, rising to the top...this is the first scene where he starts wallowing in luxury, literally, and loses his edge and things start coming apart...the fact that his direct downfall was caused by his refusal to kill the kid is ironic since it was actually a moral thing to do...his actual downfall was the result of a selfless act...

@@XxowendanxX I love that analysis I will say it was bound to happen to him because even after his first favor he pushed his luck right away foreshadowing if someone wasn’t aligned with his type of respect he wouldn’t care what they did for him. The coke and success just straight accelerated the inevitable for my Guy smh

@@fabianmarshall4120 he was schizophrenic in his economic philosophy. He hated Communism and Communists and that makes sense considering what it did to Cuba. Turned it into one vast, impoverished prison. Communism is for the people yeah right that's a big laugh they end up barely surviving while the one percent owns everything. Then later after he's filthy rich he says capitalism means get f-ed. While he's in the lap of luxury. Because he didn't want to pay the dirtbag banker to wash his money. He should have just shut up and paid it. That's how business works. The banker was taking on more risk washing such a high volume of cash. It's like he didn't want anyone else to make money. I buy lots of income producing assets and I like leveraging them with loans. It increases cash on cash profits. I'm thankful to have a banker who gives me 15 loans and I don't care if he charges a little more. He's a valuable go-to guy. You find someone like that and it's worth it. If Tony had just stayed with his original banker he would not have gotten busted like that and maybe Sosa would've gotten someone else to go to New York with Alberto to bump off the troublemaker who was going on all those TV shows
