I wish this review used dust collection. Every review I've seen that does shows this sander has a high piercing sound that is unbearable for most to use. I can't use without dust dust collection, so that's a deal breaker for me.
Being it isnt a sliding saw what is the maximum cut for laying something flat (2×10) etc. ? Also what is the height of the miter table ? 3 1/2 inches ? Thanks
I'm curious to see if you know how long the battery lasts for running everything?
Yes, same question.
I am about to pull the trigger on one of these. The only thing holding me back is the spot size. It sounds like this $5000 machine will not engrave images as well as a $500 20 watt diode machine.
awesome!
station like this requires at least 300-400w of solar input 500 ideal,, but this one has only 100w. shame.
Hi Flech, thanks for your comment. Yes, there's give and take with these portable power stations. Big benefit of this one is the features vs cost... esp. when compared to the ecoflows, bluettis, etc
@@magnoliaoakswoodshop i would agree if solar was there. Solar charging is very important not only for solar but also if you have some battery setup at home. This one is then limited to 12v dc charging up to 100W. That is a big fail, if they at least made it so i can take 24v charging (which would be 200w solar) i would say ok. This way, red flag. Bluetties that you mention in this category have 500-1000W of solar imput, and yes, they are more expensive - but also with better balance of features.
Good video.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate your support of the channel...
7ah ❤️
Thanks for your comment. Yes, the bigger the battery, the better :)
I bought mine three years ago and get a lot of use out of it. It’s reliable I haven’t had a bit of problem. WEN tools are budget tools, nothing fancy they just work. I have four WEN tools and if they offer a tool I need I will consider them.
Thanks for your message. Yes, I 100% agree. They are great tools for the price and I have 5-6 in my shop.
Love your content! They are so valuable and you share awesome info without reservation! Please keep posting ❤
Thank you for your kind words... I appreciate it..
Great video! Is there still smell after filtering outside? Does it bother the neighbors?
Thanks for your comment. I don't vent outside. I exhaust directly into the purifier and no smell unless the filters get super dirty. Just have to replace pre-filter every week or so if using often most days... Works great
Looks like it would be a good video except it’s not coming in clear even when I put it at full screen. 😔
Hi Cindy, thanks for your comment. Sorry about that... Looks ok over on my side. Will try to look into what I can do to improve...
Can you use a vice?
Thanks for your comment. Yes, you can however the table is fairly light in weight so I don't think you could put alot of weight / downward pressure on it without tipping over.
Hi, thanks for your video. Did you have any vibration issues on the DCS380, especially with the longer blades? That seems to be the complaint I've been hearing on these DCS380s.
Hi Antonio, thanks for your comment! I can't say that I've noticed it. Seems like it vibrates and sounds like most other reciprocating saws I've owned, but I CAN say its been real workhorse for me over the years...
Is yours flat? I put a straight edge across mine and there is almost 1/8 inch in the center.
Thanks for your comment. I haven't used a straight edge but not seen or had any issues with it not being level..
Thanks for the video. Questions: 1) Do you keep the riser base installed at all times now? 2) Does having the riser base affect air filtration and ventilation of smoke/fumes? Thanks!
Hi Flori, thanks for your question. 1. Yes, I always leave it on the machine. No need to remove it in my daily workflow. 2. I thought it would, but it hasn't yet. Biggest thing is to just make sure the crumbtray is accurately aligned inside the machine and your front/side doors are closed. I use the external xtool air purifier and its worked fine..
Great video. Thank You
Thank you for checking out my videos. I appreciate it..
I wish the reviews online didn't mention that it broke in the first 90 days so often. Looking forward to an update on your experience with it in 88 days!
Hi Joel, thanks for your comment. We've been using it pretty extensively in our daily jobs and its been working really well so far :)
I love mine. I have the Festool ets 6" sander too and they both have their own place in the studio, but they both perform really well. My maxxt has the 5mm orbit so I use it to remove lots material where my ets has a 3mm orbit which I use for finishing. I will say the festool sander has better dust collection but the maxxt is way better than your regular ol' orbital sander from the home center.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I agree with you. Definitely a place for other sanders in the shop, but for the money, and what it can do... well... its a great value for my business.
The only problem I have with these sanders (the same as Mirka and 3M) is the on/off switch. I don't always put my hand over the switch in that location. Sometimes, I like to rest my hand on the back of the sander, especially when sanding a large piece. I wish they came with an option to lock down the switch.
Hi Chris, thanks for your comment. Yes, I agree 100%. Seems like it would be a very easy feature to add..
I’ve checked this thing out a few times but a bit on the fence because of a lack of reviews from people I trust on youtube. Honestly pretty decent price point for the features albeit for a non name brand
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I was on the fence as well but I've been using it pretty heavily for the past few months and don't have much to complain about... Esp. for the price
Thanks for the video but please slow down. Good info but hard to keep up for beginners. Then, maybe, this video is NOT for beginners.
Thanks for your comment and helpful comment. I'm from South Louisiana so sometimes I talk a little slower so I increase the audio speed when doing the final edits :). Will try to slow.... it.... down...
Great information, my filter clogged after 3 jobs. We switched to the extra filter and had the same problem. The smoke filled the entire room and I could taste it. I’m anxious to get more practice using my lazer but can’t use it until we get it vented outside so now I’m out the $700.00 that the purifier cost.
Were your jobs doing some serious lifting on birch ply or something? Because I work with straight hardwood and it's lasting me weeks at a time. If you're gumming it up with acrylic, glue from the ply, etc. I can't imagine it would last long, but for folks doing hardwood engraving it's amazing.
@@alexorhuxley I’m using 1/4” birch plywood and switched to and inline fan but after a couple of projects it smokes up my space. We’re thinking that the exhaust hose needs to be shortened and vented straight out without slack in it. My p2 is in my quilt store so smoke is a no no.
Thanks for your comment. Hmmm... Not sure why this would be unless you're cutting some really nasty stuff. I use mine, for my business, 5 days a week for 2-4 hours per day and need to change out filter about once a quarter. Now I DO change out the pre-filter every week so I'm sure that helps
do you need the riser to do a passthrough?
Hi Michael, thanks for your comment. Yes, you do need the riser for the passthrough. Riser is pretty important for MANY tasks like thicker material engraving, using the rotary, etc.
How are they holding up now that it's been a while since you posted this
Hi Josaih, Thanks for your comment. They are holding up well. No issues so far.

Thanks a million😊 i was so lost with getting the right settings, i even saw persons selling test grid files online which i thought was ridiculous. You have explained this so well that a first time xtool owner like me grasped the concept immediately. Great job and many thanks. Saved me alot of time, wasted materials and money.
Thanks Raoul for your comment.... I appreciate you're checking out my channel. I'm happy to help. I certainly have learned most of what i know by other kind youtubers sharing their experiences... Definitely has saved me MANY hours of frustrations..
Thanks very much! As a complete newbie I found it very helpful. I need to combine two shapes ie. adding a tab, but when I overlap the two I need to delete the overlap. When I try to click on one or both the shapes it doesn't give me the option of either combining/uncombining them or deleting the overlap. Would you have any advice as to what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help. G'day from Australia!.
Hi Bobby, thanks for your comment. Might need to be sure you select BOTH objects first, if not already done so... Seemed to work for me when doing that
Turn off the fan or exhaust while you are doing video. Your audio is unusable at a couple points
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I realized that later on the fan noise. Will handle that for future videos...

I am going to keep watching but I am frustrated. My screen doesn’t look like yours. I see I have V2.
Thanks for your comment! Yes, I tested v2 of the XCS software and found (as of today) it still has alot of bugs to work out before its going to be a non-beta version of the software. You can always uninstall 2.0 and just download the previous version from the xtool website.
Excellent instructions, thank you for the video
Hi Ricky, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Just let me know if you have any other products you'd like me to review...

Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I've had this circular saw for a loooonnngg time and it keeps chugging along...
Great video, i am debating getting the air purifier for my S1 but many seem to have a different take on how affective it is. Ideally a Filtrabox would be better but is far more $$
Thanks for your comment! Yes, the necessity for a air purifier is dependent on where you are running the laser machines for sure. For the money, this particular unit has worked out well for me and think its a good value for what it does.
@@magnoliaoakswoodshop I went ahead and purchased it, seems to work good. Thanks again
I’ve been running all of my lasers on Lightburn, but now I have to learn XCS because Lightburn does not support the F1 extension. Thanks for the tips
Hi Derek, thanks for your comment! I know what you mean. I am a longtime Lightburn user as well but had to learn XCS when I got my P2 CO2 laser. Its very simple software to learn, fortunately, and is really the only way to use most of the advanced functionality of the xtool new line of lasers.
Thanks! I have a couple of questions about the purifier and P2. Does your filter clog up extremely fast? (ie - I've gone through 2 filters in less than a week and I've only run 27 jobs). Also, do you get any smoke leakage from your P2? I feel that whether I vent it to the outside or into the purifier I smell the smoke really bad. I've checked all of the seals but I feel like its leaking from somewhere. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Glad to see this. I felt the same way. Its clogged after like 15 jobs here. I will try this prefilter hack and see how it goes.
Hi John, thanks for your comment! To answer your question, how fast it fills up depends on what you're cutting / engraving. I mainly engrave wood and my filter last me around 3 months or so with moderate use (maybe 30-50 jobs per month). Pre-filter is key and changing that out every week or so also helps greatly. If smelling alot of smoke, I would add some HVAC tape around the exhaust port / any exhaust connection points to try and mitigate any leakage.
Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you for your comment! Just let us know if we can be of any help to you :)
@ssrealestateserviceinc.5064 0 seconds ago BIG HELP thank you but I must be stupid so now you have these boxes to give setting but how do you apply this to different material? thats what I cant figure out...i have a d1 pro 5 w HELP
Please see about ..how do I apply to each material please help thanks

Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you got value from the video. I know when I started out with XCS, this feature was key to helping me engrave better quality and saved ALOT of testing time and wasted materials.
But how do you apply to each material ?
It would be nice if someone would actually show how to replace the top sanding belt?
Thanks for your comment. All you need to do is open pull on that orange handle around the belt and slide off the old one / slide on the new one :)
I can not get my unit to tilt like yours, not letting me slide a belt on. @@magnoliaoakswoodshop

I bought a used Bosch 1613EVS Plunge Router to go with my new Bosh RA 1181 Router Table. It's an awkward fit, difficult to get at the collet release level, plunge doesn't remove so no easy height adjustment, etc. What fixed base router would you recommend to go with the Bosh RA 1181?
