I did a walking tour movie of Euroa, the slideshow version has way less detail and much older. I assume the street is named after your ancestors.

Was a busy little town back in its early days, the 1880s until the 70s. After that it started to die. A lot of share farmers were around the district and this was the supply town.

Glad you liked it. I dont go out of my way to film petrol stations,but as I do detailed walking tours I do take a quick photo or short movie if I come across one. I just happened to notice I seem to have a lot of photos and movies of petrol stations ! So I thought why not share them, I was confident there would be some people out there who would enjoy watching the movie.

I have driven through there 100s of times over the years, so making this video was particularly fun. Always liked the place.

Yes I have driven through there many times, never stopped to take a look, so this walking tour was a lot of fun, I enjoy exploring places. There is no beach near Temora however, and the snow is a considerable drive away.

I was there for a few hours. Back in the day I was focusing only on points of interest and the Main Street. These days I go into more detail and believe it or not, I have seen far worse places than hay. Deniliquin didn’t appear to be that bad, but I guess living somewhere is a different experience compared to merely visiting.

@@WetTropicsOfOz there is two villages that spring to mind. The rock and Yerong creek. The council has all but abandoned those two villages. Run down, abandoned buildings and parks. Not a soul to be seen wandering around the streets. There are parts of Wagga I wouldn’t go anywhere near. Shepparton is another place where I wasn’t to impressed with.

No where need as bad as Hay, Yerong Creek has 100 people, looks good too haha! I mentioned “a major town with a bit of population, like a few thousand”. Hay is on a major route it’s the “road train route” from Townsville, all the way down to Sydney they come through Hay! All i do is travel. Boulia is a dump, outback Qld, has 450 people but has min min lights. Mt Isa, a dump, but has alot of copper, i can keep on all day long. Hay has nothing, the place needs a bomb & rebuild, that’s it. I went yesterday from Melb to Hay, the motels were very dirty & no vacancy anywhere, people hanging in there not much better either. Worse fish & chips shop too, flake was really tough, like leather haha, never seen this, smart ass in there too!

I need to return and do a proper walking tour of the place.

Yes my family owned a dairy farm out there. I remember the shop. Also the footy ground was in use then.

This is a very early slideshow I made. I go into a lot more detail these days.

There is a large plot of land behind the medical clinic, possibly for an iga supermarket later. Also a new housing estate near the primary school and nursing home. There sports facilties are pretty good too.

Yes in hindsight I should have walked several more streets but I thought I would focus on a short walk from the shops.

Yes, I am regularly surprised when I visit many of these out of the way towns and villages. Always something interesting to see.

In my travels I’ve come across a heck of a lot of abandoned tennis courts and sporting facilities.
