I learned a system for speaking articulately
Join BetterSpeak: www.betterspeakpro.com/home
This video details the stages of articulate speech that I underwent in learning to improve my communication. We discuss how to avoid dead phrases, small surface lexicons, and poor thought retention. I share details about an epiphany moment and how our language is a product of our inputs. Third, how one can begin to change the way they speak with the 3x5 language diet, increasing their consciousness per sentence, and cultivating intellectual humility. If you're wanting to learn how to speak more articulately and satisfactorily, how to become well-spoken, how to speak assertively, I do believe this video will help you achieve those ends.

    I think that is not the correct approach, and likely none is, if speech is a performance activity then that needs to be addressed first before pursuing techniques or recipes, if you overthink what the person would think of you that will come on the way of you performing, for example

    Honestly just thinking about cognitive priming makes me nervous, this method is so powerful and the expectated value is so high that I would be frightened to NOT being able to articulate my thoughts properly with whatever it is that I’m saying next. And since it’s so difficult to actually do that properly this might end up in being frustrated myself. The only scenario I can imagine myself to actually be successful and deliver the promised value would be with an objective truth.

    Things I do. Say what you mean. Get to the point. Don’t use flowery words unless they very specifically convey exactly what you’re saying and even then rarely. But that doesn’t mean simplistic language. Don’t just talk: communicate. Structure is importantly. Don’t dart around randomly in time. Don’t use nested subclauses and ideas. Vary the length of your sentences. Give your audience chance to digest your words and ideas, but don’t just pause randomly for long periods. A breath, like a paragraph, is often enough. That helps the sub structure. Don’t throw every idea in- choose 2 or 3. Make them related, create a narrative, work up to a good climax. This is good for cadence too. Man I didn’t realise there were so many things and I’m glad THIS isn’t a talk 😂😂😂😂😂

    • @MePeterNicholls
      @MePeterNicholls Před 4 dny

      And omg do not do what Donald trump does when he talks. Those add on phrases after he’s made each point. Or when he’s making aside sub clauses. Be clear and concise.

    @sgsl9458 Před 4 dny

    Speaking well is a skill - it needs a lot of practice. Speaking is the ability to express precisely what you want to express to the audience you are talking to - this mens reading other and tailoring vocabulary, examples, ideas to your audience - again this needs practice. Speaking itself is only a small part of meaning, body language intonation, motion etc make up more than words in terms of meaning. This video, being highly structured and relying on bullet points, cannot help someone get better at speaking. If you want to be a better speaker - speak to people and try to get better, seek feedback and what you need to improve will immediately become obvious. Good speakers are good because they spend thousands of hours getting very good at it - it is a skill one develops, there is no shortcut other than learning. Your desire to get better is what makes you better.

    I’m personally very confused by this age range, people who are only a few years younger than I am seem to only be able to accept information or ideas if it’s in a workshop or some kind of guru subscriptions. They do not value friendships or societies and although many joined one I was in, they continually questioned the purpose of the friendships wondering what are they getting out of it. I remember these ladies pushing for a “value offer” - it really felt like they NEEDED to be SOLD,, and if you didn’t speak to them like a commercial, they were just lost. It was very transactional for people under 35 who also didn’t understand that what they see trending online doesn’t reflect real world scenarios. They would all be easily discouraged by anyone doing better than them or putting in more energy or showing more enthusiasm. I really couldn’t take the lackadaisical attitudes and negative outlooks they seemed stuck on. As a visionary thinker, I had to move on entirely. I didn’t see how to bridge a communication gap with people who generally have a world view of lack and scarcity that I don’t resonate with. It felt like they just didn’t WANT to understand, they wanted tick tock shorts and microwave dinners, so if it took more effort than that to ‘get it’, forget it was the general attitude.
